chapter one hundred thirty-nine

my way inside the building as I walked up to the worker handing her come money as she took it pointing out where the women locker room was as I thanked her walking off to the girls lockers as I strip out of my clothes pulling the swimsuit out as I threw it on making sure it wouldn't slip off at any point as I picked up my clothes putting them in an empty locker slamming it shut taking the key. Suddenly I realized I didn't bring a towel along with me as I let out a sigh hoping the boys had an extra as I walked out the door stepping out. Even though the place wasn't packed with a whole lot of people, everything was echoing off the wall as kids were splashing around the shallow end while their parents stood off on the sideline while a few teens were over in the deep end challenging one another as the lifeguard was looking at them slightly irritated. I made my way over to one of the spares tables as I set the key down sitting back on the lounge chair turning my attention to the window.

"Wow darling you look great."

I turned my head back looking up to Bruce as I couldn't help but stare a bit at him.

"Same to you" I mumbled with a smile getting up to my feet placing a kiss on his cheek as he pulled me in his grasp as I rested my head against his chest. Vance came walking out making his way over to us as he stole me away from Bruce grasp into his own as he kissed my neck.

"Looking good doll" he whispered, laying his arm around my waist. I could feel my heart beating faster as I looked over to check him out a bit before resting my head on his shoulder as he pulled me over to the other lounge chair sitting back setting me on his lap. The others came walking out joining us as Griffin wanted to waste no more time jumping right into the pool diving deep down before breaking up to the surface to take a breath. Finn jumped in after as he quickly popped back upholding his arms shaking a bit. I reached my hand in feeling the water as I pulled my hand back out feeling the bitter cold wrap around my hand. Suddenly Vance took his chance doing a cannonball sending water flying in the air splashing me in the face as I let out a groan wiping back the water while Vance surfaced back up bursting out in a fit of laughter.

"Real funny Vance" I said walking off over to the front of the pool gripping on the railing of the stair as I stepped in letting the water wrap around my waist as I stood there waiting for my body to warm up before swimming over to the deep end to join with the others beside Billy who only had his feet resting in the water before he jumped in after us as we all swam around till Griffin suggested we go to the more deeper end as the boys quickly swim out while I stood over by the wall of the pool clinging onto it for life making my way over to the deeper end.

"Hey Doll come over here" Vance called out to me waving his hand over as I turned my head to see the boys in the middle of the deep end. I wanted to swim over to them, but I was overwhelmed by worry as I kept clinging on the wall. Griffin dove into the water swimming over to me as he suffered up looking at me.

"Pretty, have you ever swum in the deep end?"

"No" I said, avoiding looking down at him as I kept my eyes focused on the wall.

"Do you want to go back to the shallow?" Griffin asked, resting one of his hands on my back. My body quickly screamed yes, wanting my feet to touch the ground again but I wanted to join the boys and I wanted to learn how to swim in the deep end before my family moved here.

"No" I mumbled looking over to him as he took his away from my back reaching his hand out to touch mine that was still resting along the wall.

"(y/n) do you trust me?" he asked, reaching his other hand out of my view.

"Yes, but why do you ask?" I asked as he quickly took his other hand in mine swimming out a bit away from the wall. I quickly kicked my leg moving closer to Griffin as he wrapped one of his arms around me.

"I got you" he said holding me close to his chest as I clung onto him till we started swimming together as he told me to just keep kicking my legs and to focus on him before he pushed himself away letting me get used to it as I kept kicking my legs while using my hand to glide through the water while Griffin kept an eye on me as I swam over to him smiling a bit as he smiled back placing a kiss on my lips as we swam over joining the others. We started to race each other in the water before playing a game of toss and other things before Vance started to grow tired as he jumped out the water picking up his towel. Soon the rest of us started growing tired as I pulled myself out of the water taking a seat letting the air just dry me off till Bruce took a spare towel wrapping it around me placing a kiss on my cheek before walking off picking up the other towel wrapping it around himself. I got up grabbing my key walking off to the women's locker room grabbing my clothes quickly tugging my swimsuit off stepping in my clothes as I walked out to the front entrance waiting for the boys as they came out. I took Robin hand in mine as we all started walking back to each of our home as I made my way back home rushing inside to take a quick shower and throw my pjs on as I threw myself into bed wrapping the blankets around me before closing my eyes.
