chapter eighty-eight

The next day around twelve in the afternoon I was still lying-in bed catching some much-needed sleep as I found myself in the forest climbing up one of the trees looking at the view of a sunrise before I was suddenly jolted awake by booming voices. I quickly shot up in bed ready to shout at whoever decided to ruin my beauty sleep when I noticed Griffin's face just a few inches away from mine. I let out a groan falling back on my bed pulling the covers over me just to have them ripped away from my grasp by Robin.

"Boys look I love you all but I'm ready to chase you all down for ruining my sleep!" I shouted before my face started turning a little red as I realized what I said. I took one of my pillows, hiding my face, playing it off like I hadn't just said that, not realizing each of the boys' faces were glowing red like Rudolph.

"Morning to you too Doll" Vance spoke up breaking the silence as he took the pillow away from my face before picking up my legs dragging me off the bed as I tried kicking gripping the bed for support before Vance just said fuck it and drop me making my ass fall on the floor.

"What are you all doing here anyways?" I question reaching my hands up rubbing at my eyes blinking a few times to get used to the sudden bright room before I got up on my feet slightly glaring daggers over at smirking Vance.

"Your mother let us in, we wanted to see if you want to stop by at the grab and go before going to your sleepover with Donna" Griffin said with an innocent smile as I looked down at him then up to the rest of the boys. Honestly it wasn't a bad idea, but I just wanted to crawl back up in my warm bed and fall back into the fantasy world of dreams, but I needed to be up by now or else I would just sleep the whole day away.

"Okay but everyone out my room I need to change" I said snapping my fingers a little as one by one they each walked out of my room Bruce being the last one as he turned back to shut the door to give me some privacy. I made my way over to my closet digging around for my sweater, a pair of jeans as I tug my pj off putting them over before walking out my room seeing the boys waiting by the door as Bruce held out my boots and jacket. I gave him a warm smile before putting them on, grabbing his hand and Finn's hand as we all walked out in the chilly breeze.

Once we got there, I let go of the boy's hand walking over to the back to grab a bottle of water paying for it before chugging it down quickly while the others were walking around grabbing snacks for themselves beside Vance who of course was at the pinball machine already playing a round. I walked over to Vance leaning against the machine watching. the boys came over after they paid for their things, so we were all waiting on Vance to stop playing his game as we all started to chat before Griffin grew quiet pointing over to the door as we turned our attention to what he was pointing when I noticed it was Max as he came over to the back of the store looking for something to drink while the boys were staring at him even Vance stopped playing his game looking over to Max.  I rolled my eyes giving me drink over to Finn walking over to Max.

"Hi Max, how are you doing today?"

"Oh hi (y/n) I'm alright just picking up a few drinks before heading to work down at the station"

"Are you working there to be a detective?"

"yeah"

"that's amazing so they got over the whole Grabber issue?"

"yeah" he said with a bright smile as I return a smile back while thinking in my head, he would do an amazing job. 

"Well good luck"

"Thanks (y/n)" he said grabbing a few sodas as I walked back over to the boys as they looked at me in slight disbelief.

"What? he's the good guy and you all have to agree he did a better job at our case then those detectives" I said as they seemed to think it over for a minute before agreeing with me.

"When did you start talking to him though?" Bruce asked 

"When I was helping him before I went over to talk to Michael"

"Was this when you ditched?" Billy suddenly asked as all of their eyes were on me now.

"Yes, but it doesn't matter and I'm not happy with Michael right now at the moment" I said looking down at the ground a little not catching a glimpse of the boys slightly cheering to themselves for me catching onto Michael. Robin laid his arm around me as I rested my head on his shoulder for comfort but also warmth as we all looked back at Vance wasting his quarters onto the machine before he ran out as we all walked off over to Donna place as I thanked the boys giving them a group hug as Donna opened the door awing at the sight of us as Vance pulled away quickly not daring to lose any of his tough point as I said my goodbyes to them rushing into Donna house for warmth as I took my jacket off throwing it into a pile while struggling a bit pulling my boats off.

"So glad you could make it" Donna said with a slight giggle as I shook my head.

"I'm one hour early"

"I don't mind"

"Good, hey quick question who else is coming over to the sleepover??"

"Maria, Jane and Elaine. I promise their all nice"

"Okay and what's the plan for the sleepover?"

"we're going to watch some movies, eat snack, do our makeup and nails than anything else before going to sleep"

"Sound like a plan" I said with a smile as she took my hand leading me to the kitchen to help her set up some snacks.
