chapter one hundred forty-three

"This is going to be exciting!" Donna said, shouting a bit while we were walking around in the clothing store checking out some of the new summer clothes they had on display. Something I wasn't a huge fan of, but I got to admit some of them looked nice. I turned my attention back to Donna shaking my head a bit as she nudged me. "Come on bestie you got to admit the state fair exciting and will be going on a double date with our boyfriend well your boyfriends and my boyfriend."

I couldn't help but smile a bit. "Yeah, your right but I'm not a big fan of some of the rides Vance is dying to go on like the zipper."

"Oh" Donna mumbled, picking up one of the shirts that was painted in a ray of sunrise "are you going to do it?"

"My brain is screaming no but I know I'll be craving for adrenaline" I said with a slight giggle, picking up a light blue dress before putting it back. "Are there any rides you're planning on going with William?"

"The ferris wheel"

"How did I know that would be your answer" I said as we both burst out laughing a bit as a group of girls looked back at us rolling their eyes with a scoff.

"(y/n) what do you think of this" Donna asked, picking up a purple dress with short straps.

"I thought we were looking for some shorts."

"Oh, right but I'll get this too" she said, tossing it over her arm. We made our way over towards the back where most of the pants were on display. Donna quickly picked out a couple racing off to the changing room. I went off checking some of the dress when I heard a whistle behind me as I spun around quickly seeing Bruce standing there. 

"Hello darling" he said with a bright smile walking over to me looking down at my hand at the dark blue dress. "Picking out some new clothes?" 

"Nope, I'm just here with Donna while she is getting some new shorts" I said putting the dress back wrapping my arm around Bruce. I gave him a kiss on the cheek as he wrapped his arms around me leaning down to place a kiss on my forehead. 

"Hey (y/n) do you think these look good, oh hi Bruce" Donna said stepping out the dressing room showing me the rip pair of shorts that I suggested. 

"They look great" I said resting my head on Bruce chest. 

"Hi Donna and I agree with (y/n) they look nice" he said with a slight smile resting one of his hands on the back of my head running his thumb up and down while the other stayed on my back. I could see Donna holding back a huge smile as she turned back walking off. we stayed in each other's arms for a bit till Bruce pulled his hand back giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Sorry Darling but I promise my mom to help her clean the house, I'll see you later at the fair, I love you." 

"I love you too" I said before he left. Donna came back out showing me a couple more of the shorts before settling on a pair as she quickly paid for them before grabbing my hand dragging me off to another store and then another. soon though we got back to her place as I fell back on her back with a slight groan escaping from my lip. "Can I take a nap?"

"No, we got to get ready" Donna said standing in front of her mirror applying some lipstick on. "Do you want some?"

"No thanks" I said stretching out my tired limbs while rolling onto my side to check the time. we only had about thirty-minute left before we would go see the boys, so I got up to my feet walking over to Donna taking a seat on the stool as she picked up her hairbrush running it through my hair to put it in a (short or long) bun so I wouldn't suffer from knots getting in my hair. next she took some of her makeup just to add some bit of blush to my cheek but nothing more as she went back to doing her makeup while I was sitting on the edge of her bed reading a book.
