chapter one hundred forty-one

I was at work cleaning the spilled soda on the floor when the door ding as I looked up seeing Finn looking better than what he was last week. I gave him a warm smile setting down the mop as I made my way over to him pulling him into a hug while giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Hi babe, you're looking better."

"Thanks love, I feel way much better thanks for taking care of me."

"You're welcome" I said. He gave me a smile kissing my cheek as I felt him pulling me closer.

"Are you going to be working all day?" he asked, pulling back from the hug as he looked down at me.

"Just for about another hour, why do you ask?"

"I was wondering if you like to come with me and the other boys on a hike, Robin uncle is taking us to Osage hills, Robin said there a cool stone house that we can go inside."

"I would love too" I said with a slight smile before walking off to the counter as Finn walked off picking up a candy bar. I rang it up, handing him back some change as I gave him another kiss on his cheek before he left. I sat back against the counter for the rest of my hour just ringing up items and handing back change as I looked over at the time watching it tick by till my coworker came as I quickly rushed out. 

When I got home Samson quickly came running up to me nudging him snout in my leg. I looked down at him reaching my hand out petting his head. I walk off to my room searching through my closet picking out a pair of shorts and a short sleeve shirt. I quickly threw them on as I tug on the sleeves a bit making sure they weren't bunch up as I walked out into the kitchen rummaging through the freezer picking up a tray of ice cubs setting it down on the counter as I started looking around in the cupboards picking up a water bottle setting it down in the sink. I quickly unscrewed the cap turning the faucet on as I turn my attention back to the ice cubs picking up the tray as I quickly folding it to the sides. Crack! I picked up a few of the ice cubs putting them in the bottle before putting the tray back as I quickly turned off the faucet throwing the lid back on. Samson quickly came running into the kitchen tilting his head up to me as his ears drop a bit knowing I would be leaving again. I felt my heart tug a bit as I crouch down running my hand over his head.

"Samson I won't be gone for long I promise when I get back, I let you get a treat" I said watching as his face lit up and his tail wag. He quickly started barking a bit jumping up at me sending me falling on my butt. He stopped walking over to my face sniffing checking to make sure I was alright. I gave him a reassuring smile as I pulled him in close for a hug while his tail started wagging again. I got back up to my feet grabbing my water bottle as I walked over to the front door picking up my shoes pulling them on before grabbing my keys. I looked back at Samson again giving him a small smile as I opened the door walking out closing it behind me. I quickly checked to make sure it was lock as I started walking off to Robin house. 

When I finally got to Robin house, I could see the boys standing near the truck talking to each other while his uncle was throwing things in the back. I made my way over to them as I greeted his uncle before giving each of the boys a kiss.

"Hi Doll" Vance said taking the chance to pull me to his chest as he kissed my cheek while resting his chin on top my head before Billy took the chance to pull me to his side as Vance glared at him a bit. Soon everything was packed, and the truck was ready as most of us jumped in the back beside Finn, Griffin and Billy that decided to sit in the truck. I sat near the sliding rear window so I could talk to everyone while Robin sat in front of me so he could shout out to his uncle. we were all inform that the drive would last about an hour which for about the first ten minutes didn't seem so bad till after forty minutes things were starting to become a bit board. Bruce was keeping me occupied though as he started messing with my hair a bit, he pulled back any loose strand of my hair as he snatches one of Vance rubber bands putting my hair in to a bun making sure that it looked right. 

"Thank you, babe" I said kissing his cheek watching his face turn a bit red as he gave me one of his bright smiles before kissing the top of my head. 

"Your welcome darling" he said wrapping his arm around my stomach. I laid my head back against his chest as I closed my eyes sleeping for the rest of the drive till, I felt a gentle tapping on my shoulder. I open my eyes looking up seeing Bruce face as he smiled again "were here." 

"Finally" I mumble enough for him to hear as Bruce chuckled a bit. I got out of his arms jumping off the truck bed onto the gravel ground with Bruce following right behind while the others were waiting for us. I took Bruce hand in mine as we walked up to the others as Robin took the lead since his uncle would be over by the stream to fish. not even a few minutes in the hike Vance started to complain a bit about the heat. I smirked walking back over to Vance side as I took one of the plastic waters bottles from Finn bag. I quickly unscrew the cap as I dump it all over Vance head rushing back off to Robin before Vance could grab me but as I turned my head, I was surprised to see him taking another plastic water bottle dumping it over his head, but I didn't say anything. 

"Here it is" Robin said pointing up to the stone house quickly I picked up my pace reaching up to the door. I took a peek inside to find that the dirt was neatly packed while some of the stone were chipped a bit the rest look new. Griffin came walking next to my side taking a peek before walking in. I started to wish I brought my camera. I felt Griffin tug my hand pulling me along with him as we stood in the middle of the house just an arm length from reaching the wall of each side. Vance came walking inside joining me and Griffin as he strolled around poking at the wall a bit as he stopped near the door looking over in the corner where a spider web was present with the biggest spider, I ever seen just staring at us. 

"Hey there, a spider in here" Vance said just as Finn was walking in to take a look before quickly turning right back around. I couldn't blame him as I looked back at the spider before walking out the door standing next to Billy side. we continue on the rest of our hike sometimes going off the path to take short cut while taking a few breaks here and there. when were close near the end Robin said we could take a short cut through the river or keep walking. my feet were starting to get tired, and the sun heat was slowly getting to me. I took off my shoes and socks handing them off to Finn to put in his bag before quickly taking off through the trees down the hill as I step into the cooling river while fish swam by my feet. I started walking down the river looking down constantly making sure I wouldn't step on the rocks or anything sharp. Robin came jogging in stepping into the water with Vance and Bruce trailing behind while the others were walking next to the stream. 

soon we got back to the truck where Robin's uncle was already packing things up throwing them into the back as he shouted to us to hurry up. I wasted no time running out the water stepping onto the sand as I ran over to the truck hopping into the back as the boys started laughing a bit at me. 

"Yeah, yeah laugh it up" I said rolling my eyes a bit with a slight smile. the boys quickly threw their things in the back as they all jumped in the back while Robin's uncle jumped in the truck starting it up before speeding off. 

by the time we got back to my house the sun was starting to set as I gave the boys each a kiss before hopping out the truck with my shoe and socks in hand as I waved the boys goodbye before walking into the house throwing my shoes to the ground. Samson came running up greeting me as he sniffed my pockets searching for that treat, I promised him. I made my way over to the kitchen picking up the bag as I pulled out two treats throwing them over to him as he grabs them walking off to his food bowl to chew on them. I walked off to the bathroom stripping out of my clothes throwing them off into the corner before stepping into the shower washing off the sweat and dirt around my feet. after my shower was done, I put on my Pj heading off to my room throwing myself on the bed as I pulled the blanket close around me.

"Samson bedtime!" I shouted waiting a minute till I could hear thumping on the floor as Samson bolted into my room jumping on my bed spinning in a circle before laying down letting out a huff. I shook my head reaching over to turn the light off falling back under the covers as I closed my eyes.
