chapter one hundred and seventeen

The hug only lasted about a minute before Vance quickly pulled away and wanted to get inside already as Griffin took one of my hands while Finn held the other as we followed after the impatience Vance inside. The place was packed once we got inside with a few older teens playing some of the games, a few children running around chasing each other along with some people from school. I felt this overwhelming feeling but pushed it back down as I followed after the others over to a corner where there were a few games and three pinball machines. Vance quickly ran over to one of the pinball machines pulling out a couple of quarters. The others rushed off to play a game while I went off looking down at each of the arcade machines picking the avalanche one. I dug around in my pockets for a while till I pulled out a couple of coins thankful with two quarters as I dumped the rest of the coins back into my pocket popping the one quarter into the machine setting the other one down for another round as I waited. It didn't take long for the machine to wake up and chime at me as the graphic started fading in my view in light blue were the misses and high score, in dark blue underneath misses was the number of players along with counting your score. Then a whole bunch of small yellow, medium orange and large light blue circles appear in rows along with now a tower of lines which I assumed was my way to block the circles. I put my hands over the buttons before hitting play as I stood there waiting till they started to drop. I started pressing the buttons guiding them over to where they were falling every time a beep would sound as I kept hitting the first row then it started to grow a higher pitch down the second row while I lost a few lines as I kept moving the buttons swaying them over to my left or right till I was down to my last line and my last row as I tried to focus on where they were going but ended up missing just two. A new round started as I kept hitting at them before missing three of them as the game froze for a minute before in big letters laid out over the screen giving me a game over.

"Hey doll, come here!" Vance called out as I was about to start a new game. I could feel my face turning a bit red as I stuffed the quarter in my pocket walking over to Vance as he smirked at me. "Want to make a bet?"

"Oh, what exactly?" I asked leaning against his side as he pulled me close pointing over at Bruce and Finn who were playing skee ball as Finn threw the ball, landing it right into the 50 points or the 30 points while Bruce was trying to catch up to Finn. Now I understood why Vance was making a bet. The boys were having a competition so he took it to ask the others to see who would win just so he could probably cough us up for some quarters to waste it all on the pinball machine.

"So Doll, who do you think will win?" Vance whispered in my ear making sure I would catch the doll part as I told myself to not turn to a cherry by this point. A part of me didn't want to take up on the bet in a bit of worry that Vance would win the bet but then if I was somehow right, I wonder what my prize would be.

"I think Finn will" I said with a bit of confidence as Vance rolled his eyes, being more confident in Bruce as we stood there next to one of the other skee ball machines waiting as Finn kept scoring 30 to 40 or 50 points while Bruce scored a few 30 then one 50 then got a land in the 100 twice. I was getting slightly nervous as I looked up at the timer watching it grow lower and lower before the game stopped as I ran over to both of them looking at each of their scores. Bruce got 360 as his final score while Finn got 450 as his final score. Vance came rushing after me looking up at the score as he scowled while I couldn't help but slight cheer inside.

"You two must have cheated" he quickly said pointing to me and Finn as I rolled my eyes shoving my fist into his chest.

"Vance you can't use that excuse when I was next to your side the whole time and while Finn was focused on the game" I said, crossing my arms a bit. "I win the bet now, what's my prize?"

Vance stood there as he looked down at me before wrapping his arms around me pulling me close to him.

"My love" he whispered with a slight smirk before picking me up off my feet as I let out a yelp wrapping my arms around his neck out of surprise.

"Heyyy I thought I already got that"

"Well now you have more" he said walking off still holding me in his arm as I could hear him mumble out that was cheesy as I covered my mouth trying to hold back a few giggles before I laid my head on Vance chest still keeping my arms wrap around his neck as I let out a yawn feeling my body start to become light as my vision started to fade a bit. 

"Aw darling are you getting tired?" Bruce asks running his hand over my cheek as I nodded my head. The others started finishing their last game while Vance took a seat somewhere resting his hand on my back keeping me close as I tried to keep my eyes open. Vance soon got up handing me over to Robin as he held me close shielding my face once we walked outside to the bitter night. soon we got to my house as my mother open the doors letting us all inside as Robin quickly walked in bringing me to my room as I let another yawn escape through my lips as Robin set me down on my bed taking my blanket pulling it over as each of the boys gave me one more kiss whispering out a goodnight before leaving. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
