Michael was still walking around the library looking up and down at the endless shelf of books of horror, romance, fantasy, etc. while I was now sitting closer to the window leaning back against my chair watching the snow pile up. Michael turned his attention over to me as he pulled up a chair sitting a few inches beside me. I didn't say a word neither did he as we stared out at the window watching the sky grow dark with clouds toppling over one another pouring more snow.

"It's beautiful isn't it" he suddenly spoke as I turned facing over to him as his eyes wandered around for mine with a smile curling up at the corner of his lip.

"Yeah, it is, hopefully the snow doesn't lock us in here"

"It isn't that bad"

"You got locked in school before?"

"Yep, last year January 28 a blizzard hit New York I was stuck at school overnight till my parents could finally come pick me up, but I had my friends to keep me company"

"So why did you move to North Denver then? Isn't New York the big dream thing?"

"People claim it is but it's just another place to live. my grandmother lived down here and she is getting worse so we moved down here about a week ago hoping to only stay for a couple days but my mother loved the quiet town so my father made it official that we would stay here"

"Well welcome but this place isn't so great either"

"Why's that?"

My body stiffened a bit. My mind buzzed with only one thought of that terrible man. I leaned back in the seat letting my fingers twirl around one another trying to bring myself back to reality when Michael spoke again.

"I'm sorry if I said anything to upset you"

"It's okay" I quickly replied looking down at the ground "I- just ask around I'm sure you'll figure out the reason"

"Okay" he said, holding a smile that I couldn't return back as I pushed myself out of the chair, grabbing my bag and throwing it over my shoulder.

"Want to go somewhere else?"

"Yes" he said, picking up his bag carrying it with his fist. I led the way once again around the hallways pointing to every door, we went by explaining what class it had and who was the teacher.

"A little heads up if you get the math teacher Mr. Johnson, he tends to talk way too fast so if you need help just talk to me, I don't have much math skill, but I can explain it. Maybe my friend Finn could help you out" I said walking down another hallway. He nodded his head looking down the hallways.

"It's much nicer without having a crowd around" he mumbled with a chuckle to ease the quiet.

"Don't worry you won't have to deal with it for long or maybe you'll end up in Bruce situation"

"Who's Bruce?"

"To explain it best he's one of the popular kids that is nice and treats women with respect so most of the girls have a crush on him" I said rolling my eyes a little at the thought crossing my arms.

"Do you like Bruce?"

"No, but a rumor spread about when the girls saw me dancing with him on Halloween, but I don't care" I said lying to myself about the last part as I bite my lip swallowing my feelings down. "Wait shouldn't I be asking more questions about you?"

"If you want" he said with a chuckle following after me as I walked off over to the back hallways where almost nobody would come by to bother us as I took a seat on the ground sitting across from Michael.

"Okay now here are some questions. do you have any siblings? pets? how was your life back in New York, how are you liking north Denver based off on only being a week?" I said throwing one question after another leaning back against the wall as Michael sat there processing it all thinking careful of each answer.

"I have an older sister but she 23 so I don't really get to see her much anymore, I have two dogs both of them German shepherd named hunter and prince, I'd say my life in New York was strict and very busy with always hanging around my friends and side job for cleaning cars. north Denver is cool, but I've haven't explored around"

"There a place called the grab and go a lot of us hang out there after school but a rule their is don't touch the pinball machine"

"Why can't I touch the pinball machine?"

"Vance hopper also known as pinball Vance would end up killing you if you touch the machine because he spends most of his time playing it"

"So?"

"So, nobody touches it" I said telling it to him like I was explain it to an idiot. it didn't matter though I could tell the gear were turning in his head he wanted to test that rule and I wasn't going to be one to stop him.

"Is there anything else interesting here?"

"There is a drive-in movie theater it's another spot people like to hang out beside that mostly everyone just doing their own things like school activities, just staying in home, or hanging out with friends" I said folding my arms across my laps as he let a sigh escape from his lip reaching his hand up throwing back locks of brown hair that was starting to fall in front of his face. "I know there isn't much but if you like I can introduce you to the others so hopefully it will be a bit more exciting beside the boring stuff"

"Thank you"

"You're welcome" I said looking up at the clock sitting above him as I noticed the time was getting closer to lunch. "Since it's getting closer to lunch you can sit by me and the others"

"wait"

"Yeah?" I questioned getting up on my feet holding my bag tightly.

"Uh never mind" he quickly said picking up his bag walking off to the cafeteria as I mumbled okay an awkward okay walking next to his side as the bell rang.
