chapter one hundred and thirty-five

(Warning this chapter is a long one)

Soon morning broke as I opened my eyes feeling a repeating poking motion on my cheek as I looked down noticing my brother sitting across from me as his chubby little hand kept poking at my cheek not noticing I woken up yet as I reached my hand out pulling him quickly into a bear hug as he squealed before giggling as I kissed his forehead.

"Morning to you too baby brother" I said sitting up in bed scooping him up into my arm "jeez you're getting heavy"

"Rude" he said in a tiny voice as I laughed a bit as he stuck his tongue out. I held him close to my side as I walked out into the kitchen seeing my mother and father dancing in the living room listening to American pie as I set my brother down slightly tapping my foot in the rhythm when my mother turned to me quickly pulling me to her as we started to dance and sing.

"I started to sing bye bye miss American pie! Drove my chevy to the levee but the levee was dry, them good old boys were drinking whiskey n rye singing this will be the day I die, this will be the day I die" we both sang out as I turned my head back seeing my brother joining along while Samson was barking and howling a bit running around us trying to join. My mother tapped my shoulder pointing to the kitchen at a plate filled with my (f/b). I thanked her as I made my way to the kitchen picking up the plate taking a seat at the table digging through the meal while my mother turned up the music louder as I shook my head finishing my meal quickly as I took the empty plate throwing it in the sink walking back to my room for a change of clothes. I took out a pair of jeans and a short sleeve shirt as I pulled them over picking up my pjs off the floor walking over to the washer throwing them in with the rest of the dirty clothes being washed.

"Hey mom, is it okay if I go over to Donna's house?" I asked, rushing into the living room as the music died down.

"Sure, sweetie but only for a few hours"

"Thanks mom" I said, pulling her into a quick hug before running out the house over to the garage jumping on top of my bike pedaling out riding down the streets looking around seeing almost everyone getting out this morning with the kids playing with their cousins and siblings. When I got to Donna house it was the same treatment with her little cousins running around playing tag as they all turned their head to me. I got off my bike, setting it near the sidewalk as I waved my hand to them walking up to the front door as I knocked on it. The door swung open as I saw Donna mom standing there as she quickly moved out the way letting me in, mentioning Donna was upstairs as I thanked her before walking upstairs seeing the door was open as I peaked in noticing Donna painting.

"Hey Donna" I said walking in her room as she turned her head beaming a smile.

"Hi (y/n)" she said, getting up from the chair pulling me into a hug as I hugged her back. 

"What are you painting?" I asked pulling away from the hug tilting my head a bit as she looked back.

"Oh, I was painting a field with flowers though it doesn't look that great" she said walking back over to the painting looking it up and down as I made my way to the other side looking to the painting.

"Donna, it looks amazing to me" I said with a smile "you did a great job with the petals" 

"Thank you (y/n)" Donna said as she kept fixated on the painting. suddenly we both heard a set of footsteps rushing up the stairs as Donna took the painting and her paint sets hiding them as one of her cousins came walking in. 

"Come on Donna it's time for hide and seek" her cousin blabber as Donna went to say something before her cousin shot her down with the whole you promise rule as I looked over to Donna biting back my laughter as she glared at me. then her cousin declared I would be joining as Donna was now the one holding back her laughter.
