He's blue since he died from hypothermia and drowning.

How he died was that this old man mistaken a frozen lake to be ground since snow was covering it before it cracked and have it fall beneath him.
Soviet was nearby but he just watch his father drown with a grin on his face.
He knew that if he were to directly murder R.E he would get in trouble so he used this opportunity to get rid of his father.

Even if R.E managed to get out, he would be too tired and a snowstorm was coming soon so he would of die form hypothermia either way.
Basically it was a neglect murder and Soviet got away with it since the people consider it to be an accidental death.

Tried to be unique with how Soviet killed R.E unlike other AU's, Soviet shoots R.E

Their honest reaction when the fandom ships them with their invaders/colonizers and turns them into soft gay twinks that can't defend themselves and is the height of a toddler.

No offense but I heavily dislike when people portray them that way and their supposed "healthy ship" will be too toxic due to historical conflicts.
