Ig writing tips from me.
I'm not professional but I hope this helps.
Some of these were based off form Reddit posts on what bothers them when reading a fan fic

1. Make sure you don't leave a wall of text contain dialogue and story telling. Always separate the dialogue form the paragraph.

I'm pretty sure that people will struggle to read what is happening if there is a wall of text explaining everything. Always make sure each dialogue is separated. There it will be more easier to read and more organized

2. Always capitalize words when starting a new sentence or the letter I when it's by itself.

Don't do this:
Ex: "he vented i swear!" he said.
It's going to kill the reader's motive of reading since they might deem it immature.
So, make sure you do something like this:
Ex: "He vented I swear!" He said.

3. Either don't swear or use swear words (not slurs. Censor the slurs at least) and don't try over use it.

Often times people will get annoyed when they see a word like this, "f*ck" when reading.
It's either you write the swear word down or find another way of saying that word.

Overusing cuss words won't be a good idea either.
So keep it balance with those cuss words.
We don't want to hear the cuss word alphabet in a single paragraph

4. Different dialogues.

You've seen my stories on where things go like this.
"Words" - Dialogue
"Words" - Thoughts
Words - Story telling
And etc.

Doing something like that will help you keep things a bit more organized and helps tell the reader that the character is thinking or talking.

5. Always make sure you have one of these at the end: "." "?" "!" "?!" "..."

It's a common mistake to forget to put one of those five at the end but make sure you don't forget to do it too many times or else readers will click off.
It's recommended to double check every sentence to make sure there is one.

6. Don't rush and take a break once in a while

Rushing to make a story is generally a bad idea since everything will be sloppy and a mess. So it's best to take your time on writing.
For the break, you don't want to write too much or else you'll get burnout.
Take a break after writing a chapter or two.
Taking a break should give you time to get ideas on what to write next.

7. Read other stories for inspiration or a reference.

Make sure you don't 100% copy the entire thing.
I get inspired to create a new story when I find another story interesting.
Movies can help with this as well.
Using a movie or a story as a reference or inspiration should help you in writing since you have a sturdy plot goal.

8. Before publishing, write it in Google docs.

For me, I always write a story/chapter in Google docs since it's more easier to see mistakes, organize everything and you can update it.
Then once you confirm that everything on it is good, copy and paste it onto Wattpad/AO3.
If you want, you can change up some things in the Wattpad.
Pretend Google docs is a rough draft for a essay.

9. Give readers a heads up of a 18+ scenes (Smut, extreme violence, very offensive or sensitive topic)

If you're one of those daredevils that write smut, very gory scenes, very offensive or sensitive topic, give readers a heads up at the beginning of the chapter and another one when that parts arrive.
There, the readers won't suddenly read one of those scenes and they can quickly scroll past that mark.
Make sure you put something down to let the readers know when that part is over.

10. Try avoiding problematic ships.
