Normal P.O.VGems tensed up a bit when he was asked about his past, he knew it was necessary to let others know that he didn't have any criminal records, but at the same time reliving those memories were terrifying to him.
Gray squeezed his shoulder in reassurance, Gems took a deep breathe and tried his best to calm down.
The guild members were surprised that Lucy was the daughter of the famous and a very wealthy businessman Jade Heartfilia, she left home to hone her craft as a celestial wizard.
Her mom died when she was young, and her dad wasn't very fond of her. After telling them about her life, it was pretty clear she had no criminal backgrounds and was granted to be a member of the guild.
“Gems?” Makarov spoke.
“Yeah, Yeah... I use w-wind magic.” Gems stammered while speaking. “I am 16 a..and I am from the same town as G-Gray... From Isvan.” said Gems as he felt everyone looking at him and listening to him carefully.
It was intimidating, and his hands were shaking, Lucy and Gray noticed that. He was nervous. He had a hard time running away from his past, and he didn't want to embrace it.
“My pa-parents...they... My parents...are not h-here anymore...” Fear and pain was plasted on Gems's face as his eyes were getting to water.
“Gems are you okay?” Gray immediately asked out of concern.
“I... I... I...” Gems was hyperventilating.
Lucy scooted closer and rubbed circles on Gems's back, everyone gathered around. Mirajane knew what to do.
“Dream Knock!” Mirajane immediately casted a spell on Gems, and as a result he passed out in Gray's arms. “I could see the pain in his eyes...” added Mirajane.
“Memory Arise!” Master Makarov casted a spell on Gems as it glowed golden. “He doesn't need to speak about it, because he will show us.” Makarov added as a screen appeared over Gems. With this magic they were able to peek into Gems's memories.
Gray picked up Gems and laid him on the floor below with his head on his lap as everyone gathered around Gems.
“You are weakling, scram away!” A boy pushed Gems so hard, he fell and bruised his knees. Gems was a child, he was constantly being bullied in the school he went to because of not having strong magical abilities, neither could he heal himself.
“Ouchie... That hurt...” Gems got up and was washing his wound under a faucet on the playground.
“Gems, do you need help?” a little girl came and asked if Gems needed help.
“Sure.” Gems answered with a teary smile.
The very next second that girl pushed Gems again on the ground, catching Gems by shock and as if it wasn't enough, she threw water at him, getting him wet.
Gems sat there all wet, on the ground, all dirty, bruised and tears running down his cheeks, people would pass by and just ignore his existence. Gems got up and just limped away.
“You got beat up again?” Gems's mom asked as he got home. Before Gems could reply, he received a slap from his mom, a slap so hard that his glasses flew away.
“Get out of my face.” She said as she grabbed Gems by his arm and dragged him through the hall way and pushed him in a room, locking it from the outside.
“Mom! Mom! Mom no! I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry...” Gems cried while banging on the door from inside.
“What a bunch of jerks they are! He had to apologize for getting bullied? His mom is insane!” Lucy spoke while getting angry, as more bullying memories of Gems were shown on that screen. That ticked everyone off, especially Gray.
