Gems's P.O.V

“Die bitch!” I said as I at charged Juvia and grabbed her by her and attacked her until I made sure that she was dead.

“I'm gonna end you.” I spoke angrily as I charged at Meledy and Lyon, taking them out of commission and annihilated them.

“Gray!” I screamed at the top of my lungs I tried waking Gray up. He was covered in his own blood and he was not moving at all. I witnessed Gray's death right in front of my eyes.

Gray died protecting me.

My eyes immediately shot up, my face was wet due to all the sweat and my heart beats were racing like a horse. I looked at the ceiling and then looked around.

‘Another nightmare...’ I thought. I looked to my right and it was Gray, sleeping peacefully.

I immediately got up on the bed and drank water from the glass nearby. I put my hand on my neck and my chest and tried to calm myself down. My heart was still beating at a fast pace. ‘Calm down Gems... It was just a dream... Just a dream...’ I told myself.

I removed the blanket from over me and stepped down. I looked at Gray one more time before walking towards the balcony in our room.

Everyone was sleeping so peacefully that I had to make sure that I don't make any noise. As I came out and stood in the balcony, the full moon shined like a diamond.

“Mom... Dad... What's happening...?” I mumbled to myself as my eyes started to get water while looking at the moon. “I was better off being a weakling, at least I didn't have the power to kill other people.” I mumbled as I clenched on the railing.

The visuals of those horrific sins I committed kept on flashing in my head. Along with the memory of Gray dying because of me.

I was to be blame for that, had I not been distracted, none of that would've actually happened.

‘Gray died protecting me...’ I thought and that thought disturbed me the most. I remember I was the one who promised him that I'll protect him even if it costs me my life when he helped me against those Vanish Brothers and look at how the tables have turned.

I forgot about how many time have that man saved my life without even thinking about his own.

I owe my life to him. Now I have a bigger goal. ‘Enough of him protecting you... I'm gonna protect him now...’ I thought. I promise I'll get stronger. I looked at the moon, shining bright and thought about Gray, my mom and my dad.

“What's my baby thinking?” I was taken out of my trance when I felt two arms being wrapped around my torso with Gray resting his chin on ny head.

“Gray...” I mumbled as I turned around immediately and hugged him, wrapping my hands around him. I buried my face in his neck and just hugged him tightly. I could feel his hands on my back and on my head.

“Shhh... Gemsie... I'm here... I'm not leaving you...” He mumbled. I immediately looked up at him.

“Are you? Are you really? Because it didn't seem like that on the battle field.” I said and Gray sighed. He himself was out of words. “I had to see you die, that was traumatizing and I feel so depressed ever since...” I told him.

“You're right, I am not disagreeing. But look past it now. That was a dream, which we all saw. And look at me now. Here I am, standing right in front you, holding you.” Gray said. “I know it was scary, I was scared too when I saw that. But I did what I had to do, I won't let anything happen to you.” He said as I looked at him.
