20: Fairy Tail VS Phantom Lord

Normal P.O.V

The mission the gang went on was rather a simple one, especially with Erza sticking with them in this one.

“The client was so generous.” Gems said with a smile as they all walked towards their home, to get some much needed rest.

“And you have to thank me for doing all that work.” Gray replied.

“Never seen more a delusional person than you!” Natsu rolled his eyes, shading Gray and that's when they started to bicker again.

“Here they go again...” Laki just sighed.

“The way all of you inserted in what was supposed to be my solo mission!” Lucy complained.

“It's cause we are the strongest team in all of Fairy Tail!” Natsu said while flexing his guild mark, for once Gray agreed with him.

“Between me, Gems, Happy, Natsu, Erza and Laki, we can pull off any job at all.” Gray said with a proud smirk as he rested his arm around Gems's shoulders.

“Yes! We do make a reassuring team.” Erza couldn't help but agree. Erza was impressed by the new members. Gems and Lucy were really great and helpful additions to her team and it really felt complete now.

“What about me!?” Lucy yelled at Gray for leaving her out of conversation.

“Yeah, don't do Lucy like that!” Gems told him, siding with Lucy. With all the bickering they were on their way home but they all were surprised when the town's people were all murmuring while looking at them and looking at them with pity.

“Everyone's starring at us for some reason...” Laki pointed out.

“I got a bad feeling about this.” Gray added.

“They're afraid-” Erza was saying but stopped when she looked in the direction of their guild and gasped. Everyone saw what she saw and had the same reaction. Their guild hall looked as if someone destroyed it from within.

“What the...!?” Natsu hissed.

“Hurry up!” Erza commanded as they walked as quickly as possible, they quickly dropped their luggage at their home and made a run towards the guildhall.

“What happened here?” Gems asked looking in disbelief as huge rods of iron were poking out the guild hall, destroying the building from various places.

“Our guild...” Gray whispered in disbelief.

“What on earth happened here!?” Laki asked.

“Who did this!?” Erza spoke angrily as she took a closer look.

“Phantom Lord.”

They all heard someone and they all turned around to find out Mirajane standing there with the same emotions as them, mixed with sadness.

“Phantom Lord did this. It's frustrating to admit but they got us good.” She added. Natsu looked pissed. Mirajane took them inside the guild hall and they all went downstairs, in the storage area, the first underground floor of Fairy Tail.

Every other guild member was gathered there. Master Makarov was there too, and they just immediately went to where he was sitting and having a drink. Natsu argued him with for being carefree.

Makarov didn't want to fuss over a sneak attack caused by the Phantom Lord wizards, since they attacked during night when the guild was empty and was thankful that no one got hurt. And he avoided the physical conflict because the magic council forbids that he didn't want anymore paperwork.
