109: He Who Never Came Back

Normal P.O.V

It had been weeks since Gems had last encountered with Seth and almost three months since he last saw or heard from Gray. This had been the longest three months of Gems's life.

Gems was completely broken and lost without Gray.

Gems would spend the entire daylight in training and looking for Gray like a fool. He visited every town and city nearby their village which Gray had previously visited for his missions but he would always return empty handed.

The only hope he had was the little feeling of Gray, that tingled in him and he could feel that because of Gray's bite on his neck.

Gems was tired, he would look for Gray non stop, would returned empty handed, get frustrated and irritated and would train even harder than the previous day without any rest. Gems would not care about the rain getting him wet and would train until he had no energy left.

Gems felt completely helpless, he felt directionless, and was confused. Gems felt like he was back in the time when he was on his own after Deliora destroyed his town.

He would cry at the parallels from his past which were repeating in his present. Seth abducting his parents, similar to Deliora attacking them... And how he met Gray and never saw him again for 10 long years. History was repeating and it was not for his liking.

Gems would skip meals many times.

He had absolutely no one, he felt terrible without Gray being around.

Gems felt incomplete without Gray. He came to realize that life is not as easy as it was when Gray was around. He was dying without Gray.

It had been raining nonstop and it was starting to get cold, but Gems didn't care about going inside nor had he eaten anything since yesterday morning, he had been training without any break after he came back without any clues on Gray's where abouts.

“G-Gray...” Gems mumbled while taking short breathes as he was completely exhausted. “Where are you...?” he mumbled as he looked up at the sky and the rain drops got mixed with his tears.

Gems dropped to his knees while getting soaked in the rain, his believix faded away due to lack of energy.

Gems bursted into tears, he put his hands over his eyes to avoid those tears, but he just couldn't control them or contain the emotions within him. Gems had reached his breaking point. He was crying hysterically while thinking about Gray.

He was shaking with cold, but he didn't even have energy to get up.

“C-Come back... Gray... P-please...” Gems cried hysterically while taking short breathes.

Gems's heart ached thinking that he might have done something wrong and Gray had actually left him, like he did when they were little. All the negative thoughts were flooding him. “I'm... S-sorry Gr-ay...” Gems cried as he let his tears fall on the wet ground.

His vision was getting blurry due to crying. His body was shaking due to cold, he was breathing through his mouth and had no energy at all. He was staring at the ground while letting his tears get mixed with the rain, and didn't even noticed three familiar faces walk towards him.

“Gems!”

It was Natsu, Lucy and Wendy with the exceeds. They were getting wet as well as they walked towards Gems.

Lucy had knocked onto Gems's door, but when no one opened up, they decided to check the surrounding, since Natsu could smell him nearby. And they eventually found him in the back sitting on the ground while getting soaked.
