70: Failure

Normal P.O.V

“Let the Grand Magic Games's preliminary Sky Labyrinth round begin!” the pumpkin head announced. As a path way appeared.

“A race? We better get moving!” Gray said while mentioning others to start moving their feet.

“We can't! The rules say all five official members must reach the goal and Laki's not here.” Erza said.

“What are we gonna do now?” Gems asked.

“We got no option but a roster change, we have to replace her.” Erza said as she looked at Gems and Gems understood and nodded.

“Laki might not be here, but I am! Let's go!” Elfman said as he came running and grabbed all four of them, catching them by surprise. Gems was shocked too and so was Lisanna as they saw Elfman sprint on the path.

Elfman was strong and really tough, but considering Gems's athleticism and flying ability, he would've made a better replacement for Laki.

“Lisanna! Gems! Happy!” Erza yelled while being carried by Elfman. “Look for Laki, Wendy and Charles!” she added.

“Alright! We'll go ask around!” Lisanna yelled back.

“Gemsie! Don't get in any trouble!” Gray yelled.

“I won't! Focus on the qualifying round! Good luck everyone!” Gems yelled back while cupping his mouth.

“Let's go team Fairy Tail!” Happy cheered.

Gems locked their bedroom door as the inn shifted back to normal and got on the ground. They immediately got out and informed the other guild members about Laki and Wendy's disappearance and Elfman being Laki's replacement.

They all split into teams and were connected via Warren's telepathy.

Gems, Lisanna and Happy immediately made their way towards the Royal castle, the Luminaria palace, Mercurius as Laki mentioned that they were gonna go for sight seeing.

“Gems! Look!” Lisanna pointed towards the huge labyrinth in the sky which had people falling from it.

“Oh no! They're falling!” Happy gasped.

“I hope Gray and the others make it, our entire guild is counting on them.” Gems mumbled as they kept on running.

As they reached near the castle, all three of them were in awe looking at how beautiful it looked from the outside. They saw some guards near the entrance and immediately approached them.

“What are you doing here at this hour?” one of the guards asked.

“Sorry. We're looking for some of our guild members who have gone missing.” Lisanna answered.

“They were supposed to participate in the preliminary round of Grand Magic Games.” Gems said. “We are from Fairy Tail.” he added as he showed them his guild emblem.

The guards discussed something amongst themselves and let them in.

As they entered the Mercurius, it was maze for them because of the garden herbs being there, they ran all around in the place to search for their friends, Happy also found Wendy's purse which confirmed that they were somewhere nearby.

“The eight teams have been determined, the qualifying round is now over! Those teams will be revealed tomorrow! Good night!” The pumpkin appeared in the sky again and announced that, and Gems's team still didn't find Laki and Wendy.

They looked around for a little longer until Gems's spotted Laki, Wendy and Charles laying on the ground, unconscious. He immediately called for the others.
