19: Making Promises, Saving Future

Gems's P.O.V

Upon reaching the village we saw that the huts that were destroyed were back to normal, and the villagers were doing their thing. The villagers wanted the moon destroyed and Erza even agreed to that.

Erza did some interrogation with the villagers, and it came to our notice that whenever the villagers tried to go near the moon temple, they were teleported back to their village.

Erza transformed into her gaint armor and asked Natsu to assist her in breaking the moon. The others and I just watched her in shock. She launched that huge spear with the help of Natsu.

What seemed to appear like cracks on moon, it was a sphere formed over the island due to excessive moon drip, which was crystallized and it created a membrane in the sky.

I looked at Gray and sighed knowing that the moon will not go away and I can still moon gaze every night.

But the villagers never turned back to normal, the real plot twist happened when it was revealed that moon drip didn't affect their appearance but, their memories. They were demons all along, friendly demons.

The guy who brought us here happened to be alive as well, he reunited with his father and the villagers rejoiced as they flew in the air with their wings.

If anything, they seemed more like angels than demons to me.

They declared to celebrate and have a feast with us for helping them and freeing them from their misery. All of us went in our huts and got changed after we tended to our wounds.

“Once I get something in my belly, I'll heal everyone.” I told as we sat at the table waiting for the food.

“I can fill that belly up for you.” Gray whispered in my ear.

“For what you've done by using that spell, no love making for a week.” I whispered back in to his ear with a smile on my face. Gray had a shocked expression on his face.

The feast was nicely cooked and the food they made for everyone was finger licking delicious. The party was actually going so good, jokes were thrown, dance offs were happening and every one was having a great time, but there's always someone who ruins the party.

Lyon's teammates, Yuka and Sherry appeared. From their body language, it looked it they were here to fight, but when Erza knocked them out, they didn't fight back.

They actually came to apologize and explain their actions, just like me and Gray, they had lost their families at the hands of Deliora. Eventually they were invited to the party as well.

After eating and having fun, it was relaxing and I could feel my energy getting back.

‘The fact that I could actually use effective power moves and defensive spells, I wish mom and dad were around to notice my improvement.’ I thought as I looked at my wounds which I wouldn't possibly able to heal on my own.

‘They would've been so proud.’ I thought as I searched for the moon. The moon wasn't visible to me from where I was. I got up and walked into the woods to get a ground.

Normal P.O.V

‘Where is he going?’ Gray thought as he saw Gems walking into forest. He was confused since everyone else was present in the village.

“Be right back.” Gray said to Natsu and Happy as he got up and followed Gems. He went right where Gems went. A part of him was curious as to why Gems went into the forest alone, and a part of him was worried about him going alone because it could be dangerous.
