Gems let everything out as he let Gray know what he has been feeling lately. Gray's heart was aching upon seeing Gems like that, he never wanted to hurt Gems. Never.

“Gemsie please... I can explain...” Gray spoke as he got closer to Gems, but Gems took a step back.

“Please...” Gray said while sniffing. Gems didn't respond, he just stood there.

“About Daphne, I kept it a secret because I didn't want to you get involved, because I didn't want Daphne to put her dirty hands on you, like she did to Natsu. She could've physically hurt you and I didn't want that.” Gray said. “I was just trying to protect you...” he mumbled the last part.

Gems was just looking down while listening to Gray.

“About Lyon...” Gray started as he sniffed. “For some reason, I can always sense your magic and during that battle, I could feel you getting exhausted while trying to help me...” Gray said as he wiped his tear.

“Racer could've seriously hurt you, and I didn't have much magic because of that SE plug. That's why I dropped you off to somewhere safe, it wasn't about Lyon or anyone else.” Gray explained.

“It was about me and my concerns regarding your safety.” Gray said as he looked at Gems. Gems didn't have anything to say now.

“You get so protective when I get hurt, you want me wear my shirts so that my body doesn't get scars, you were so protective when I got this scar on forehead...” Gray said while pointing at the scar on his forehead.

“And... And.. I saw how concerned you got when my head hit Jura's spell when he protected us... And not to mention, you always heal when I don't even ask to...” Gray mentioned it. Gems's heartbeats were increasing.

“Why do you do that?” Gray asked Gems.

But Gems didn't answer. He looked at Gray and was speechless. Gray was holding back fresh tears.

“Because you don't want me to get hurt? Because you love me? Because you want to protect me? Am I not right?” Gray asked he just looked away.

“The feeling's mutual...” Gray mumbled lightly.

“I...I..” Gems was about to say something but Gray cut him off.

“I am not done speaking!” Gray said immediately. “That day I saw you healing everyone, I actually waited for you to come to me and talk to me. And when Wendy offered to heal me, I stopped her multiple but she didn't listen.” Gray further explained.

“I wanted you to heal me, it has always been you.” He added, shouting the last part. “You have been so distant with me lately that it doesn't feel okay to me. I wanted you to stay with me, not away from me.” Gray added in a soft tone.

“I have lost my mom, my dad, my friends, my mentor, my villagers... I have lost everyone that I could call as a family and then I met you... And fell in love with you...” Gray spoke.

“I fell in love with you, that has been like a bottomless pit, I keep falling!” Gray said while bursting into tears. “I don't get it, why don't you understand that!? There's no one else except you!” Gray shouted as he grabbed Gems by his shoulders and pushed him into the wall behind him while shedding more tears.

Gems was shocked.

“I love you, Gems! Why don't you get it?” Gray yelled while letting his tears falls.

Gray grabbed Gems's hand and put his palm over his left pectoral, right over his heart. Gems could feel Gray's heart beats.

“Can you feel that!?” Gray asked.
