34: The Harvest Festival

Normal P.O.V

The day of the Harvest Festival was here, and Gems was in awe when he saw all the decorations across the town. He was amazed by looking at even the basic ones,  since he never had an experience like this ever before.

Gray, Natsu and Happy sweatdropped while looking at his reactions but were also happy for him as well. The boys were on their way to the guild after doing the grocery shopping for their home, while the girls were busy getting ready for Miss Fairy Tail contest.

“You guys are arrived at the perfect moment, Mister Fairy Tail contest is about to start!” Mirajane spoke while hosting the event.

“Wait a Mister Fairy Tail contest is happening!?” Natsu and Gray gasped, because they didn't even know.

“Yeah it was very last minute, the guys demanded one since we're already having one for the ladies.” Mirajane explained. “Seven spots are filled but there's still one more spot left if any of you wants to participate.” she added.

And immediately Natsu and Gray started to bicker like kids, about who should be the last contestant and who shouldn't be. “Gray! Natsu!” Gems yelled at them stopping them. “How about... Me?” Gems asked while scratching the back of his head.

“You wanna participate?” Gray asked. 

“Are you sure?” Natsu asked.

“Well...” Gems said while shrugging his shoulders.

Gray didn't even think twice before nodding in yes, he was ready to give up his spot to Gems and Natsu had no choice with majority being on Gems's side.

“You guys better cheer for me!” Gems said as he went backstage leaving Gray and Natsu with the girls and the other guys who weren't participating.

The competition was to be held on the stage, the front row seats and tables were all for the Fairy Tail members and behind the barricade were the normal town's people who just came to watch the show.

The first participant was Elfman, and he impressed everyone with his muscles and his extreme core strength by doing 500 push ups in five minutes.

The second was Vijiteer, who danced his way to impress people.

The third was Loke, who sneaked his way in the competition and used his charm on all the girls to cheer for him.

The fourth was Alzack, who used his impressive guns magic skill and got a huge applause from the audience.

The fifth was Warren, who interacted with the audience and used to telepathy magic impress them.

‘I feel so nervous, they all are doing so good. How am I supposed to top this?’ Gems thought as he watched his fellow competitors from backstage.

The sixth competitor was Max Alors, who got booed by the audience and Gems sighed in relief after that horrendous performance.

The seventh competitor gagged everyone, it was Gajeel.

“How come he gets to participate but we don't!?” Natsu asked Gray while getting frustrated.

Gajeel started singing and he got even louder boos than Max. They had to take Gajeel out of the stage forcefully since he refused to leave on his own.

‘Come on Gems, you can do it. Show them what you got!’ Gems thought as he waited for Mirajane to announce him. Gray, Natsu, Lucy and others were on the edge of their seats for Gems's performance.

Gems took a deep breathe.

“Contest number 8, he's newest member of the guild and the youngest person to participate in this contest, Gems D'Cruz!” Mirajane announced.
