39: Wind & Ice - Unison Raid

Macao, Wakaba and Elfman were hurt from their battle as they somehow managed to drive back to the guildhall. Gems had a couple wounds here and there as well.

As they reached the guild hall, immediate medical attention was given to them.

Gray had gained his consciousness and was made sit on a bench of the open cafe that was out of the guild hall. He didn't even look up, he just looked down. Gems would glance on Gray, while he himself was getting a bandage wrapped around his knee to cover up his bruise.

Cana was really furious at Gray. She walked upto him and shook him by his shoulders. “What the heck is going on, answer us you traitor! Answer-” She said as she furiously shook Gray but got interrupted by Gems.

“Please stop!” Gems yelled as he got in between of Cana and Gray, defending Gray. “Gray would never betray Fairy Tail! I have faith in him no matter what anyone else says!” Gems said getting emotional. He was overwhelmed by the situation.

“What happened to listening to both the sides of the story? Even if the entire world turns against him, I'll still believe in him!” Gems said holding back tears as he had everyone's attention now.

Lucy smiled a bit, knowing how faithful Gems was.

“Gems, that's enough.” Gray mumbled as he placed his hand on Gems's shoulder.

“Gray?” Gems immediately turned around as Gray stood up.

“Take me to Gramps, I doubt we have time to sit around and chat.” Gray said while looking at the others.

“I'll come with you.” Gems said immediately as Alzack and Bisca took Gray and Gems inside Makarov's office. While the others in the guild decided to battle out the huge Dragonoid.

Gray was made to sit in a chair, while Gems stood behind him, standing there in Gray's support. While Gramps was near his window, watching his children fighting off the evil.

“Explain yourself.” Makarov said.

“I am not a traitor...” Gray mumbled. “Only Natsu can destroy that thing...” he added. Both Makarov and Gems were confused.

“While I was on my mission yesterday, I stumbled upon this Daphne lady. She was in search of a dragon slayer who could power her artificial dragon, she wanted to destroy everything with that, and upon research I found out that only a dragon slayer could destroy that huge Dragonoid from inside.” Gray explained, and now making sense as well.

“That's why I had to play double agent to make her believe I was on her side and to lure Natsu in. She casted a spell on a certain town, which made every citizen go invisible and only her being taken down can free those citizens, and Natsu actually had given his word to those citizens while we were on a mission when we were kids. But that idiot forgot about it.” Gray added, further explaining to master.

“I did all this to complete that mission. I didn't expect the things to get dragged till Magnolia... I am not a traitor, I'd never betray Fairy Tail.” Gray explained while looking down.

Gems on the other hand sighed in relief and had a smile on his face knowing Gray didn't do anything wrong at all.

“Told ya!” Gems said and immediately covered his mouth when Gray and Makarov looked at him. Gray just sweatdropped.

“Very well then...” Makarov spoke as Gray stood up. “I have a little trick that will help, try to get him enraged.” he added. Gray nodded and looked at Gems. Both Gray and Gems left his office and made their way out.
