“Lord Gemsie... What have you done to yourself? Your body is heating up.” Gray sighed as he checked Gems's temperature as they got back home.

“While you were gone, I spent days trying to find you. I was restless. My body might had given up, but my heart did not. I missed you so much... I couldn't sleep.. Couldn't eat... Or even think straight.” Gems mumbled as he looked down while sitting on the chair of the dining table.

Gray felt guilty for leaving Gems, but Erza felt even more guilty.

“I'm so sorry, so sorry for making you feel that way and making you wait for so long. I'm so sorry Gemsie...” Gray said as he got on his knees to get to Gems's eye level.

Gray grabbed both of Gems's hand and squeezed them lightly.

“Gray is not to blamed here...” Erza said grabbing Gems's attention. The guilt in Erza's voice was noticeable. Erza felt very guilty because she knew that Gray and Gems were in a relationship and couldn't live without each other, yet because of her they had to.

“I was the one who asked his help with this mission.” she added. Gems looked at Erza with confusion plasted on his face.

“When I was on my mission, I was actually on my way back home when I ran into Erza... It was when I got home a day late.” Gray said. “She actually told me about her mission and was looking for every help that she could get.” the ice mage looked at Gems with longing in his eyes.

“I tried to search for Natsu as well, but no luck. But thankfully, that unplanned meet with Gray was fruitful. But I specifically asked Gray to not get you involved.” Erza added.

“Not get me involved? But why?” Gems asked while feeling disappointed.

“It was a very dangerous mission, even for the both of us... There were a couple time we barely escaped the claws of death itself-” Erza was interrupted when Gems gasped loudly.

“What!? Gray!? Is that true!?” Gray didn't respond with anything and just stayed quite. Gems understood his silence. “Why would you put yourself at risk knowing what I went through the last time... Why?” Gems's voice cracked as he directly asked Gray.

“Blame me, not him.” Erza immediately answered. “There was not a single time when he wasn't thinking about you when we were together.” she added.

Gray had a faint blush on his cheeks as he looked away avoiding Gems's gaze. Gems squeezed Gray's hand.

“This was a very very dangerous and an undercover mission, it was best for us to not involve anyone, not only you. There were times Gray tried contacting you, but call it bad luck because something or the other would always come up.” Erza explained with a sigh.

Gems didn't know what to say.

“I know the past few months were difficult but Gray is not the one to be blamed for that. All this time, even during the mission, his main goal was to come back home.” There was a smile on Erza's face. “Every time I saw Gray looking at your picture while thinking about you, it pushed me deeper and deeper into more guilt.” she added.

“Huh? You took a picture of me for this mission!?” Gems asked Gray and the older boy just shook his head in a no.

“I didn't carry any pictures of you specifically... In fact I always had a small picture of you in my wallet ever since you joined the guild.” Gray pulled his wallet out and showed how he had a picture of Gems in it in the small compartment.

Erza blushed at that gesture, she never realized how much Gray loved Gems.

“Gray-”

“Gemsie... There was not a single second where I wasn't thinking about you. I was literally counting days of when I would get back home. I missed this place, I missed you. Please forgive me.” Gray looked directly at Gems's eyes.
