114: Hallucinations Or Reality?

It had been five days since everyone got back to Magnolia. Everything felt like it was back to normal. We haven't taken any missions as of yet.

The past couple of days everyone would meet up at the location of our guild hall, because Gramps had agreed for a rebuild.

It was basically Gajeel and Laki who did most of the work, because of their magic being iron and wood, two of the most essentials elements in building. While others helped in arranging bricks and doing other legal paperwork.

“I'm so tired.” Lucy said as she slumped besides me and Happy.

“Yeah, me too. I wanna go home and sleep.” I said. Both Lucy and I looked at each other and nodded. We saw around and made sure everyone was busy, that was our chance to sneak out.

I saw Gray was busy arguing with Max and Reedus, while Natsu was arguing with Jet and Droy.

We both nodded and tip toed towards the exit. But before we could even get past 15 steps, we were stopped by Erza. We just sighed and got back to the camp.

“Master is about to make an announcement, so I am not letting you sneak out.” Erza spoke in a scary tone and we both just gulped down a lump in our throats.

We sighed and went back.

“Where did you go?” Gray asked me immediately as we both got back and they were all gathered around.

“Umm... You see...” I stammered while avoiding Gray.

“Sneaking out, huh?” Gray asked and my eyes widened. I just scratched the back of head with a forced smile. Gray rolled his eyes. He was about to say something, but before he could, Master Makarov interrupted.

“I'm glad that everyone is gathered, I think this is the perfect time to talk about MagicMania.” Master spoke and my attention was immediately diverted. That was the only way I could see my parents again, because Seth's team was participating as well.

Gray and I stood side by side. My heart beats were already increasing.

“Is everything okay? You seem stressed?” Gray asked as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder, for support.

“Y-yeah!” I said as I looked at him. I still haven't talked to Gray about my parents. I am too scared to talk to him regarding the whole situation and the threat that Seth gave.

“The paperwork is complete and our guild will be participating!” Master announced and everyone cheered. “But we won't be having two teams like we did at the Grand Magic Games. We have only one shot this time. And that's why we need six of the best to represent our guild and remind the world who Fairy Tail is.” Master announced. I looked around everyone was talking amongst themselves, discussing all the possibilities and cheering for the outcome.

‘Only six? What are my chances?’ I thought as I looked down. I felt Gray's grip tightened around my shoulder and I immediately looked at him.

He knew that I wanted to participate and also knew that I was tensed because I ain't a top guy of the guild.

“The competition is next month, so we don't really have much time. Hence I will short list 12 wizards who will have a chance to represent Fairy Tail, out of which six will form team Fairy Tail.” Master announced and that caused me to sweat a bit.

‘12? Maybe I do have a chance.’ I thought as I looked at my palm, it was sweaty, which I quickly wiped off on my pants.

“We don't have much time, so I need you to start taking up missions, through which I will judge and can shortlist the candidates. And for those who are not interested, can continue rebuilding.” he added and everyone fist bumped the air.
