18: Iced Shell

Gems's P.O.V

I was kind of shocked when I learned that using a spell can convert you to become ice and once that ice melts, you'll be completely out of existence. It sent chills down my spine.

I couldn't imagine the pain Gray was in.

We made our way towards the temple, just to find out it was tilted towards the side, just to realize that it was Natsu's doing to not let the moon light reach underground.

“Look out!” Erza punched Lucy and Happy sending them flying, as she sensed an incoming attack. Gray grabbed me and jumped backwards to dodge.

“Who goes there!” Erza asked, just to find out that it were the same people who were performing the ceremony last night, and were many in number.

“We will not allow you to interfere with the Cold Emperor!” Their leader spoke as they stood in front of us with weapons and some were even ready to attack with magic.

“We're surrounded!” Laki said as we stood together our backs facing each other.

“Gems! Happy! Fly others out and get into the temple, I'll handle them!” Erza said as she summoned her sword.

“I'll stay with you!” Laki said.

Gray looked at me and I nodded. “Requip: Charmix!” I requiped and immediately grabbed Gray, meanwhile Happy grabbed Lucy as we flew directly towards the temple's entrance.

“We gotta find Natsu, quickly!” Lucy said as we sprinted inside.

“You're not going any further!” More of those hooded wizards appeared inside the temple trying to stop us.

“Gems! Watch out!” Gray yelled as he pushed me away, saving me from an attack. I gasped as the sharp object passed from between us. I sighed in relief when I realized that I didn't get sliced.

“More of this guys?” I asked as I realized that they were trying to stop us. I didn't have much time left, we need to stop the ceremony.

“Wind Slicer!” I launched my attack, those hooded figures immediately parted ways in order to dodge, creating a clear path.

“Gray, go!” I said as I was getting ready to launch another attack. “Go settle things with Lyon.” I added as looked at him with a firm look on my face.

“What?” Gray looked confused and shook his head no. “I am not leaving you here.” he said back, as I just frowned.

“Don't worry Gray! We're here too! Go on!” Lucy said as she pulled out her whip.

“Go Gray!” I said. Gray took a deep breathe.

“Stay safe, okay?” Gray said and I just nodded before he ran towards the next stop for him. You stay safe as well, Gray.

“You're not going anywhere!” the hooded figure yelled as a couple of them ran after Gray. I flew behind them and landed in front of them stopping both of them going after Gray.

“No, you're not going anywhere!” I said with a frown on my face. “Wind Blast!” I launched an attack right at them, but they dodged, they were skilled.

Lucy had summoned Virgo, who has helping us fight them. Happy was fighting as well.

“Happy!” I said as a hooded person appeared from behind him, before they could grab Happy, I went and kicked him in the face.

“There are too many!” Lucy said as we stood with our back against each other, getting surrounded by them again.

“We can't give up now...” I replied. “We need to get rid of these people here and help both Gray and Natsu.” I added. Lucy not only had Virgo summoned but was also using her whip to fight those people.
