73: Natsu's Replacement

Day 4 of the games didn't have a very eventful start for Fairy Tail.

Lucy came in 2nd place for her team in the first round but Minerva from Sabertooth injured her pretty bad by constantly beating her until the match got over by the refree stoppage.

Minerva had the audacity to drop Lucy from the sky, Gems had to requip and catch Lucy before she hit the ground, as he glared back at Minerva for hurting his best friend.

The entire team was on the ground while they had a stare off with Sabertooth.

Gems, Wendy and Shelia used their healing magics on Lucy as they waited for the paramedics to arrive. Lucy was immediately taken to the paramedics, the crowd Booed Minerva and the rest of Sabertooth.

“Lucy...are you okay?” Gems asked as he held Lucy's hand and didn't let go while sitting besides her. Entire Team Erza was there and Fairy Tail Team B arrived as well. “Porlyusica, is she gonna be okay?” Gems asked.

“She'll be fine. Thanks for healing her injuries on time.” Porlyusica told.

“Oh, Teams A and B are both here, that's perfect.” Makarov spoke as he entered the room. “The management has just ordered us to combine our teams into one.” he added.

“But why?” Mirajane asked immediately.

“There are currently seven teams participating and having an odd number of teams is problematic for battle segment matchups. So they've ordered us to combine our two teams with the lower score from the both the teams.” Makarov explained.

Gems looked at Lucy and she was asleep. ‘Guess I won't be the part of the team anymore.’ Gems thought as he looked at Gray.

‘You can still be the reserve member!’ Gray thought as he looked at Gems.

“Erza, Natsu, Gray, Laxus and Gajeel, with Mirajane as the reserve member. I am putting my faith in you.” Makarov spoke and Gems felt as if Lucy gently squeeze his hand while being asleep. “Laki, lets get the names registered.” he added and walked out with Laki.

“Let's get moving! I can't wait to kick their butts!” Natsu spoke and they agreed.

“I'm gonna stay here with Lucy.” Gems spoke as he looked Gray and Gray nodded. ‘I wish I could've participated with you in the tag battle.’ Gems thought as he looked at Gray.

‘I wanted that too...’ Gray thought.

“Good luck, guys!” Gems wished as he looked at them walking away. Gems stayed by Lucy's side, incase she needed something while watching the matches from the lacrima tron.

“You did good yesterday.” Porlyusica spoke while making some sort of potions.

“Thanks, wish I could've requiped into my Believix... Guess I was not ready yet.” Gems just sighed. But Porlyusica just shook her head in no.

“That's not how it works. To achieve Believix, its important for the people around you to believe in you, have faith in you. Once they have those feelings for you, that's when you'll achieve your Believix.” Porlyusica explained.

“Oh... But that just means...” Gems just mumbled as he looked down.

“You'll be fine.” Porlyusica mumbled.

“No one believes in you.” Gems heard a voice from behind and immediately turned around but it was just a wall behind. Gems's heartbeats increased due to that. He just sighed and looked at Lucy.
