Gray had fallen back as he turned into a kid, he was reliving the same memories that Gems was. Gems looked exactly how he looked ten years ago. Gray was messed up as he grabbed his head and had tears running down his face.

All the memories of Deliora destroying his village, his master Ul sacrifing herself, him meeting Gems but never seeing him again was flooding his brain.

He was frozen when he saw Doriate had little Gems in his grasps and was tormenting him. Gray wanted to help Gems but he felt weak and he was scared to even go near Doriate. Gray's heartbeats increased due to fear.

‘Gray...’ Gray heard a familiar voice in his head, it was Ultear's voice. ‘Deliora is long gone...’ he heard.

“I know!” Gray mumbled as he grabbed hid head.

‘Be brave. For Gems.’ Gray heard and he realized what Ultear was trying to tell him. ‘You need to defeat the threat in front of you to save your own future.’ She added.

Gray saw that Doriate was trying to eat Gems, while Gems was a crying mess and trying to get free.

“My future...” Gray mumbled as he gritted his teeth in anger upon looking at that demon.  He needed to save Gems, before something happens to him. “Gemsie...” Gray mumbled as he got up and wiped his tears away and ran towards Gems and Doriate.

“Hands off him!” Gray yelled at the top of his lungs as he jumped and froze Doriate's wrist. The attacker, Doriate, felt cold and immediately let go of Gems.

Gems took a deep breathe of relief when he got on the ground again.

“Gemsie! Get behind me, I won't let this demon touch you again!” Gray said as he helped Gems up and stood between him and Doriate.

“Gray... I'm scared.” Gems mumbled as he grabbed Gray's hand.

Gray wiped his tears away. “You're safe, I promise.” Gray said. “I am pathetic for even letting this demon touch you at the first place.” Gray added. Gems just squeezed Gray's hand out of fear.

“I wanna go home...” Gems mumbled as he stood behind Gray.

“Don't worry Gemsie, I'm all better now.” Gray said. But the demon just laughed at them. Gray used his brain and had frozen the cliff, extending it a little more and Doriate was standing right on the trap.

“Do you even realize the situation you are in?” Doriate asked. “My Art of Regression didn't just make you young, but your strength, speed, magic power and endurance has been reduced as well.” he said while laughing.

“Sure.” Gray said with a smirk as he pointed towards the ground. Doriate noticed and immediately cracks started to appear.

The next second, that ice broke and Doriate fell down and crashed into the ground below. “Gemsie... Don't be scared when I am around, and I'm so sorry it took me so long to save you.” Gray said as he looked at Gems, who was trembling with fear.

Little Gray immediately pulled little Gems into a hug. They were kids but the feelings they shared didn't go any less, it was still the same. “I was so scared...” Gems mumbled as he cried again and hugged back Gray.

“Its okay baby... I am here with you, you are not alone.” Gray tried comforting Gems. The wind mage could listen to Gray's heartbeats and it helped him calm down.

“Gray... I won't let you fight alone!” Gems said as he broke the hug and looked at Gems.

“But Gemsie-” Gray was saying something but Doriate roared loudly and started climbing the cliff again. Gray immediately used his magic and made a fake floor above them.
