77: Gray's Sacrifice

Normal P.O.V

Gray and Gems had earned 2 points by defeating Shelia and Lyon.

Erza defeated Minerva and earned 5 points.

Gajeel defeated Rogue to earn a point.

Laxus defeated Jura and earned another 5 points.

Fairy Tail sat at the top with a total of 63 points, and there only remained one opponent now, Sting of Sabertooth. But Sting if manages to beat all of them, he'll win 9 points meaning that Sabertooth will win the entire tournament.

“Gray... Let me heal you...” Gems offered but Gray immediately stopped him. 

“No Gems, save it for later... You need it more than me right now.” Gray replied as Gems helped him walk. Gems would look at the moon above, and would think about his parents.

Suddenly there was a Sabertooth emblem in the sky and they knew where Sting was.

They both helped each other walk towards the location. As they reached there, they saw that the others were there too. Erza was injured the most. And Sting stood there unharmed and untouched.

“You're all wizards I looked up to seven years ago. What a sight to behold.” Sting said.

“Save the chit-chat for later, this is the final battle.” Gajeel cutt him off.

“We'll fight you 1-on-1, pick someone.” Gray added.

“You can fight me all at once and I'd still win.” Sting said with over confidence.

“You really shouldn't underestimate any of your opponents.” Gems said as he let go off Gray and stood eye to eye with Sting.

“I'm actually paying you respect. That's why I'm gonna destroy you all together.” Sting replied.

“Very well then, if you're that determined... We'll battle you, Sting!” Erza said and the others nodded. Sting smirked and started to emit a lot of magic power, while team Fairy Tail just stood there in front of him.

Sting looked at them and got intimated by them and their determination that his magic energy just faded and he fell to his knees. “I surrender...” Sting mumbled while looking at the ground and Fairy Tail earned another point, making a total of 64 points.

The cheering squad of Fairy Tail was in tears joy as Fairy Tail was announced as the winner of the Grand Magic Games and the sky was filled with fireworks.

Gray and Gems looked at each other and smiled as they saw the fireworks.

Upon asking Sting the reason of his surrender, he told that he was doing it for Lector. And just then Milliana appeared with Lector and Sting reunited with his buddy again.

“This is incredible... I can hear that crowd from here!” Gray mumbled as they all heard the crowd cheering and chanting for Fairy Tail.

“If they cheer any louder, the ground will start shaking!” Gems replied. 

“I'm hungry!” Gray said while pointing at his tummy.

“A victory party?” Gems asked and Gray nodded.

Erza and the others hoped that Lucy was rescued safely, since they didn't saw any signal flares yet. ‘Lucy... I hope you're safe...’ Gems thought as he looked at the Mercurius Palace.

Gems helped Gray walk again, by letting him take the support on his shoulders as they walked towards their inn, where the other Fairy Tail members had gathered.
