The door slammed behind the group of five. Lia stood for a moment as their voices faded in the distance.
She suddenly ran to the side table next to the couch and pulled out a syringe.
She ran to Brian's lifeless body and stabbed the needle into his thigh, and pressed the pump, releasing the adrenaline into his bloodstream.
After a few seconds, he gasped and began to choke on his own blood. She jumped up and linked her arms under his armpits and dragged him out of the house. When he was a safe distance away, she ran back in to complete her task.
She bolted back out and made a call as the orange glow of the flames spread throughout the house.
"He doesn't have much time. Are you almost here? Wait. I see you. I'm leaving. We're even now. I've done as you asked. Hyunjin took a picture of his body, so there's no doubt they believe he's dead. Please leave my family alone." She said to the person on the other line. "Thank you. Goodbye."
She ended the call and took off.
