Lily studied JK's eyes as he offered his assistance. There was a brief silence after his declaration, and it seemed as though Lily had slipped into daze.
Chan immediately noticed and sat back down next to her, and gently shook her. "Babygirl? Are you-"
Suddenly, Lily pulled her hand from him and interrupted with a stern and confident tone. "Before I accept your offer or anything you have said as the truth, I need to know how you have so much information and how you seem to gather it so quickly."
A quick panic rushed over the group because of Lily's sudden bold outburst. Han nervously repositioned himself and spoke up, "Lily. Love, don't-"
JK's hand once again signaled for silence as he let out a breathy chuckle. "You are indeed a lioness in sheep's clothing, aren't you, Ms. Lily?"
Lily glared intently at him, not saying a word. The stare down was quickly causing tension amongst the nervous onlookers.
Chan and the others had shifted in their seats and tensed, ready to take action when JK narrowed his eyes as a crazed smile stretched across his face. He leaned down closer to her face and spoke in a low voice. "You are a natural killer. You'd slit my throat right here without fear or hesitation, wouldn't you?"
Lily held her unphased glare as she replied confidently, "Give me a reason, and you'll find out."
Suddenly, JK laughed and backed away, allowing the group to relax back in their seats. "Goddamn, girl! You'll run the underground one day. Mark my fucking words." He sat back in his seat and shook his head. "Men triple your size would have pissed themselves by now, yet here you are still staring at me like you're already planning my death. But, I suppose you deserve an explanation. But make no mistake- I will kill you in front of these men if you betray my trust. Is that understood?"
Lily simply nodded and awaited his explanation. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Han take a deep breath and close his eyes.
JK leaned back and crossed his ankles over the edge of the table. "I have informants planted everywhere. There isn't a government building, business, or Mafia unit that isn't under 24-hour surveillance."
Lily slowly nodded her head as she took in his explanation, then asked skeptically, "If what you're saying is true, who do you have stalking my team?"
When she saw Han drop his head out of the corner of her eye, she immediately knew the answer to her question. She snapped her head over to him. "You?"
Han glanced up at her and hesitantly nodded. "It's not what you think, love. Everyone here knows and anything I report to him is information he needs to know to keep the underground at peace. Nothing that would betray any of you-"
"Unless we fuck up." Chan interrupted. "If we defect, Han would immediately report it."
Lily panned back and forth between the three, then to the others who sat unphased. "Ok. So is there anything else you boys decided I didn't need to know- wait. Does that mean he has my files because of you?" She asked, angrily glaring at Han.
Han pursed his lips, but before he could respond, JK interrupted, "Ms. Lily. Yes, Han informed me about you upon their discovery of your kidnapping. I was immediately informed of everything involving your case, along with the events that followed, but you need to understand that without that arrangement, you'd be considered a murderer and would be paying for Bobby's life with your own. Now, are we able to move forward?"
Lily stared at him as she processed the information. She took a deep breath and replied emotionlessly. "Lia- does she know why she is here?"
JK smiled and replied, "She does not. As I said, what happens regarding her will be for you all to decide."
"May we be the ones who question her?" Yeji asked with a dry tone. "I want her to look me in the eyes."
JK nodded his head. "As you wish."
He picked up his phone and made a call. "Bring the girl." He instructed harshly before hanging up.As they waited, Lily thought for a moment, then, let out an exasperated sigh before speaking to her team. "As of this moment, we cannot trust the agency. I'll inform Director Hwang that we're going on hiatus. If they are working against us, we have to assume that their hired security was keeping tabs on us for the week they were there. Furthermore, we should assume our home has been compromised. I want the home, all electonics, as well as all vehicles swept for tracking devices and bugs. I want all files on every person that stepped onto our property that week. We also need the need coroner report on Brian as well as the report from the scene. I want files on everyone who handled his case. JK, can you assist us with that?"
She turned to see JK staring at her with an amused expression. "I'll get a team right on it. Damn, no wonder you were consistently a step ahead." He said through his grin.
Suddenly the doors opened and a guard entered, leading Lia who was cuffed and blindfolded. He sat her in a chair facing the group and used a second pair of cuffs to secure her. He bowed to JK then exited the room.
JK stood behind her and removed her blindfold. Panic flooded her face when she opened her eyes to see her team as well as the members of SKZ sitting in front of her. Their expressions of heartbreak and anger alerted her that they know what she had done.
Lily stood up and walked to her, planting herself directly in front of her. She spoke in a stern and rage filled tone. "It's time we had a talk."
