Chapter 131: Debate

Lily and Han were placing the food on the table as the others found their seats. Lily was facing away from the stairs, scolding Leeknow for threatening Hyunjin when Chan came down the steps.

Lily was about to take the seat she was standing next to when Chan snaked his arms around her waist. He lowered into the seat, guiding her to sit in his lap.

She glanced back to him and shared a soft but sad smile. For a brief moment, they stared into each other's eyes. He smiled back at her before pressing his lips against her shoulder.

The silent conversation between the two was enough to put her mind at ease.

Leeknow smiled at the interaction and nodded to himself before plating his food.

As dinner progressed, the atmosphere gradually lightened, despite Chan being silent.

"Where do you think the egg comes from?!" Changbin yelled. "The chicken!" He replied to himself.

Hyunjin shook his head. "Let's use a flower as an example. For a flower to bloom, you need a seed."

Changbin threw his hands up. "And where does the seed come from? The flower!"

I.N spoke up, adding his opinion. "Chickens used to be dinosaurs. Wouldn't the dinosaur be born from the egg?"

"Then who laid that egg?" Changbin retorted.

Felix swallowed his food and replied. "I think Lily should settle this debate. What do you think, sweetheart?"

Lily, who had finished eating and settled into Chan's lap, resting against his shoulder, replied in a serious tone. "I think Binnie laid the egg."

Laughter echoed through the room at Lily's response as Changbin stared slightly stunned.

Leeknow shrugged and replied, "Whichever came first, we eat both, so why does it matter?"

I.N nodded, "Exactly. Just stop. My head hurts."

Han took a sip of his water before replying, "No! We haven't settled the debate!"

"We're just gonna be stuck in an endless loop if we keep talking about this. Can we at least have a debate that will lead somewhere?" Seungmin scoffed.

"Fine. Baby names or wedding dates?" Felix suggested.

Chan peeked down at Lily and smiled. "I think the bride/mother should be present for those debates."

The seven men glanced over at her and smiled.

"Ok, that's adorable." Felix hummed, seeing her snuggled against Chan with her fist tucked under her chin, sound asleep.

Chan kissed her forehead. "I'm gonna take her to bed." He said as he tucked his arm under her legs and lifted out of his chair, cradling her against him.

He slowly eased her into the bed, careful not to wake her. He removed his shirt and crawled into the bed next to her, resting his back against the headboard.

He let out a deep sigh before taking his phone from the bedside table. His eyes widened when he unlocked his phone to find a notification from an unexpected sender.

He peeked down at Lily, then opened the message.

Chan dragged his hand down his face in frustration before easing out of the bed to go downstairs.

He stepped into the kitchen with a distressed look on his face. "Guys. We need to talk."

Everyone immediately stopped cleaning and turned their attention to Chan. "What now?" Leeknow scoffed.

Chan waited until everyone was seated before explaining. "Dae messaged me."

Changbin furrowed his eyebrows and snapped. "Why the fuck-"

"Her Dom is apparently the manager of the cafe we go to. She said that after your run-in the other day, she overheard him on the phone talking about us." Chan explained as he pulled the messages up and slid the phone across the table.

Stunned, confused, and concerned expressions spread across their faces as they read through the messages.

"I don't even know how to respond to this. Do you think she's telling the truth?" Felix asked, throwing himself back against the chair.

Chan pursed his lips together, "At this point, I don't know. But if there is a threat this close to us, we have to address it."

"And what if she's helping him get to us?" Hyunjin asked with frustration evident in his tone.

"We'll take the usual precautions, but either way, we have to follow this lead." Leeknow replied.

"Do we tell Lily about this?" Felix hesitantly asked.

I.N glared at Felix and scoffed. "Of course, we tell her. Why would you even ask that?"

Felix raised forward and replied, "Shouldn't we wait until we know Dae's intentions?"

Changbin shook his head and replied, "How do you think she'd react finding out that we met with a previous sub behind her back. Hell no, I'm not keeping this from her."

Chan nodded and added, "He's right. We have to tell her. But she's not going with us. Only a few of us will be there."

Hyunjin glared at Chan and replied, "And if it is a setup? What if 'a few' isn't enough?"

Chan dropped his head in frustration. "This is not open for debate. If it is a setup, don't you think it would be careless to put us all at risk?"

Seungmin nodded his head in agreement. "I agree with Chan. We can't risk it."

"Can't risk what?" A soft voice was heard from the top of the stairs.

The men directed their attention to Lily, who was now coming down the stairs. Nervous expressions covered their faces.

"Babygirl, are you ok? Why aren't you asleep?" Chan questioned, standing to walk toward her.

"I had to pee and heard yall arguing. What's going on?" She asked sternly.

Chan sighed and handed her the phone. As she read through the messages, she kept a calm and collected demeanor.

"We were debating on whether or not this is a setup and if we all should go, or only a few." Hyunjin explained as she read.

Lily handed the phone back to Chan. "We're treating this as a mission. Where is the meeting taking place?"

"Bukhanson National Park." Chan replied.

Lily nodded, then stared deep into Chan's eyes, "You, Changbin and I will meet with her while the others are on standby. I want Leeknow and Hyunjin in snipe position. Seungmin and I.N running comms and surveillance from the van. Felix and Han, I want yall blending in with visitors. Wear hoodies and face masks to conceal your identities."

Chan shook his head. "Babygirl, that all sounds like a good plan. But I don't want you there."

She arched her brows and replied with a stern tone. "I'm gonna be there, Chan. End of discussion."
