Chapter 155: Cheesecake

Lily and JK walked out of the nursery with their arms linked together. "Ok, Left- Right- Left- Right-" Lily chanted as they matched their steps.

When he skipped a step, she laughed as she teased, "Clearly, we're gonna have to work on this. "Left- no! Left you dork!"

The eight men who were anxiously waiting in the living room immediately heard the laughter coming from upstairs. They shared relieved and excited expressions as the banter between Lily and JK grew closer.

"We're going down. You gonna make it?" She taunted as they approached the stairs.

JK laughed as he replied. "Well, hell- I thought I was walking you down an aisle- not stairs."

Curiosity piqued at JK's statement, diverting full attention to the pair struggling to sync their steps.

"If you master the stairs- you can master the aisle. Come on." She said as she tugged on his arm. "Left down- right down- left-"

Though still slightly confused, smiles and expressions of astonishment spread across the faces of the others as the pair made their way down the stairs.

Felix leaned over toward Seungmin and started to ask, "How that hell did he-"

"I don't know, but God, I missed that laugh." Seungmin interrupted, not taking his adoring eyes off of her.

"Who wants the bride!" JK asked as they took the final step off the stairs.

All eight men simultaneously jumped out of their seats, playfully shoving each other and holding each other back to get to her first.

"She's mine!"
"No She's mine!"
"I'll airfry you all!"
"Back off!"

Tablo and Dae were shocked, yet laughed hysterically at the chaos unfolding in front of them.

JK unlinked their arms and quickly backed away as he shook his head. "Uh, uh! Sorry to throw ya to the wolves, there Sparky, but this is where I tap out."

Suddenly, the laughter faded to soft smiles and expressions of admiration when all eight men wrapped around her in a calm, loving embrace.

The emotions that radiated from the huddle could be easily felt and identified by the three others.

Dae peeked at Tablo, pouting through her smile when she heard the faint whispers and soft laughter coming from within the huddle. "This is so beautiful- I'm might cry." She mouthed as her eyes began to glisten.

Tablo chuckled and kissed her forehead as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to him.

JK flashed a prideful smile before turning toward the kitchen to grab the cheesecake he had seen on the counter as he was walking Lily down the stairs.

After searching several drawers, he finally found the forks and made his way back to join the others.

The group had dispersed from their embrace and was settling throughout the living room as Lily greeted Dae and Tablo.

She had just turned to find an empty seat when JK caught her attention. "Is that another cheesecake?" She asked as soon as he walked past her.

"Yep." JK simply replied as he placed it on the coffee table.

She turned to Seungmin who was taking his seat behind where she stood. "Minnie, thank you for trying but I don't think I can take another disappointing bite."

He flashed a mischievous grin and replied. "Just one more, beautiful. I won't buy another one after this. I promise."

She sighed and nodded as she replied. "Ok. One more." She walked around the coffee table and picked up a fork.

Dae struggled to keep a straight face as her anticipation and excitement took over.

Lily sat in the empty seat between Seungmin and Han as she plunged the fork into the cheesecake. "Where did this one come from?" She asked as she raised the fork to her lips.

Before anyone responded, the bite landed in her mouth. Her eyes immediately widened as she slowly chewed, allowing her taste buds to process the flavor.

"Holy fuck." She mumbled as she hurried to refill her fork.

"There's no goddamn way-" She mumbled again as she shoveled the second bite into her mouth.

She immediately closed her eyes and threw her herself back humming in satisfaction as she savored the familiar flavor that she had been chasing.

Everyone chuckled with amusement at her response.

"So this is it." Seungmin asked rhetorically.

She launched forward and prepared an even bigger bite. "Fuck yes it is! Five star- hall of fame worthy! It tastes identical to the cafe's! Where'd it come from?"

"Dae made it." He responded with a smile stretched wide across his face.

Lily was mid bite when she halted in shock, snapping her widened eyes up to Dae. "You made it? Seriously?"

Dae excitedly nodded as she flashed a cheeky grin. "Yep! I was the one who made them at the cafe. You have three more in the freezer and I gave Seungmin the recipe. But I'll happily keep you supplied if your 'chefs' fuck it up." She replied, earning playfully offended glares from Felix and Leeknow, and laughs from the others.

"Oh my god- I fucking love you." Lily exclaimed as she took another bite.

Dae beamed with pride and satisfaction as she replied, "Aww, I love you too! I'm glad I could help!"

Han leaned over to grab a fork but before he could reach the cheesecake, Lily twirled her fork in her hand and held it up, gripping the handle. "Baby boy, I will stab you and anyone else that comes near this cheesecake. This one is mine. Back the fuck off. Get your own."

Han held his hands up in defense as he backed away chuckling . JK and Dae were laughing breathlessly as the others stared with jaws dropped in amusement.

"Aye, aye." He teasingly replied as he stood and made his way to the kitchen to get one for the group to share.

She winked at him and replied "Good boy." She smirked when he took a deep, flustered breath and bit his lip as he walked away.

Lily took another bite and leaned back, balancing the edge of the pie tray on top of her stomach.

As the night went on, they all got lost in conversation. The atmosphere was filled with laughter as they told stories and teased each other while devouring the delicious cheesecake.

They were in the middle of telling about the flour fight that happened on the night Lily was introduced to JK when she began panning around the room. She fell silent as she studied each expression.

Without realizing it, a smile stretched across her face as everything that JK had told her was being proven in that moment.

She glanced at her fiancés- she had eight amazing men that truly loved and adored her.

She looked at Tablo and Dae- she had brothers and sisters who were there for her when she needed them.

She looked at JK, who glanced at her at the same time. He flashed a soft, proud smile as he slowly winked and nodded his head. It was as if he knew what she was realizing in that moment- she finally had a father that she could depend on.

She had family. A real family.

She then looked down at the half eaten cheesecake that was still in the same position on her stomach- she had cheesecake.
