"So, did you ever decide on a theme, sweet girl?" Leeknow asked as he tossed his napkin on his plate and relaxed in his chair, throwing his arm on the back of the chair beside him.
"Pleeease tell me you decided on the circus theme." Han whined as he stared at her with pleading eyes.
"No. It definitely needs to be flowers and butterflies." Hyunjin insisted, leaning forward, preparing for yet another nursery theme debate.
Felix rolled his eyes and groaned. "Here we go again."
Lily propped her chin on her interlocked fingers and listened with amusement. Her eyes panned back and forth between the two arguing in front of her.
"The book said that colors are good for babies' development. What does a circus have? Colors." Han argued, crossing his arms defensively over his chest.
"Do you think butterflies and flowers are black and white? No! Colors!" Hyunjin dramatically retorted.
Lily smirked as she took a sip of her water, still snapping her eyes from one to the other.
Felix waved at the waiter, signaling that they were ready for the check before chiming into the argument. "As much as I'm enjoying yet another Han vs. Hyunjin fight, we need to get going."
"No, wait! Five more minutes. Maybe this time, someone will throw a punch." Leeknow teased, earning a playful smack on the arm from Lily.
"-pink, purple, teal, green, yellow-"
Hyunjin listed, tapping a finger for each color.Han flung himself forward and interrupted, "Red, blue, green, yel-"
"Those colors are not girly colors!" Hyunjin snapped.
The waiter hesitantly placed the check on the table and backed away, arching his brows at the scene.
Felix let out an exasperated sigh and furrowed his brows at Lily. "Sweetheart. Shut them up, please."
She laughed and rolled her eyes. "Would yall like to hear my decision?" She asked, hoping to attract their attention, yet they continued their bickering.
She cleared her throat and sternly demanded, "Eyes on me!"
Both men immediately snapped their eyes to her with a stunned, yet amused expression.
Felix, who was pulling his card from his wallet, froze, panning his eyes between the three, while Leeknow laughed out.
Lily continued with a smirk on her face. "Good boys. Are you two ready to hear my decision?"
"I'm sorry love. Go ahead." Han replied, arching a brow at her.
Hyunjin crossed his arms over his chest and sat back in his seat. "I'm listening, my angel."
"The nursery itself will be soft and elegant. I want light pink, soft grey and white. However- since each of you are insisting on having a 'baby section' in you room, you each pick your own theme." Lily explained excitedly.
"Ok. That's actually the best idea." Han replied in a suddenly excited tone.
Felix locked eyes with Leeknow. "I'm doing the cat theme." He insisted with a stern tone.
Leeknow leaned forward and propped his arms on the table. "The hell you are." He growled. "I was first to come up with it."
Lily pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. "Lord help me." She mumbled before picking up the check, and snatching Felix's card from his hand, seemingly without him realizing it. "I'm going to pay while yall fight it out."
She walked to the counter and handed the card and bill to the cashier who had just surfaced from the kitchen area. As she waited, she giggled at the bickering going on directly behind her.
"They seem happy." The cashier quietly said. "Are they happy?"
Lily furrowed her brows in confusion as she stared blankly at the girl in front of her. Before she could respond, the girl shook her head. "Forget it. I'm sorry. Have a nice day." She nervously said, shaking her head in regret as she held the card and receipt out.
Now curious, and slightly alarmed, Lily quickly asked. "How do you know them?"
Before the cashier could reply, she widened her eyes, then immediately dropped them to the floor.
Lily narrowed her eyes at the girl, then immediately felt a hand on the small of her back. She looked back to see the uncomfortable expression on Leeknow's face, as well as the nervous eyes locked on her from the table. She looked back at the girl, immediately remembering the original rules she was given. 'Eyes down.'
"Let's go sweet girl." Leeknow said, taking the card from the cashier while focusing only on Lily. With a gentle tug, he led her out of the cafe, followed by the others.
"Angel? Are you ok?" Hyunjin asked softly as they filed in next to her.
"She was a sub, wasn't she?" Lily asked in a casual tone, as she led the way to the baby store.
Leeknow lightly rubbed her back as he replied, "Nearly three years ago. What did she say to you?"
Lily haphazardly smiled and glanced over at him. "She just said you looked happy- asked if yall were."
Han slipped his hand into hers. "Please don't be upset, love. We had no idea sh-"
She shook her head as she interrupted. "Hannie, there isn't a single thing I would be upset about. It just never crossed my mind that I'd meet one of them." Her lighthearted giggle was and unexpected relief to the four men.
"Are yall ok?" She added, still sensing their discomfort.
Felix immediately responded, "Yea Sweetheart. We just- I guess we never expected that to happen either."
Hyunjin asked in a slightly stunned tone, "You seriously aren't upset?"
She smiled and shook her head. "Jinnie, why would I be? Yall had a life before me. You've been nothing but honest about everything. And every one of you kept your eyes on me. Not her."
Leeknow pulled her closer to him and kissed the side of her head before whispering in her ear. "Will you tell Felix that I'm doing the cat theme."
