Lily knelt in the floor and dipped the tip of the paintbrush into the grey paint. She pressed it against the wall, where the edge meets the trim and carefully and steadily glided it along the wall until the brush ran dry.

She sang along to the music that played through the bluetooth speaker as she dipped the paintbrush and continued where she left off.

As she repeated the process, creating a grey outline over the original cream color paint, the thoughts that raced through her mind began to fade away.

She was now standing with the paint tray in one hand, and the brush in the other, pulling it down the corner, where the two walls meet. She smiled when she felt two hands snake around her waist to her stomach and a chin rest on her shoulder.

"You look so at peace." Han softly said before kissing her neck.

She smoothed out the line she had just painted and settled back against him. "I didn't realize how much I missed this." She said, just barely above a whisper. "Painting houses used to be the only thing that ever brought me peace."

He squeezed her tightly against him and pursed his lips together. Just as he was about to reply, she pulled away and dipped the brush in the paint to continue her work.

He lowered himself to sit on the floor, leaning back with his arms stretched behind him, balancing the weight of his upper half as his legs extended and crossed at the ankles.

His eyes followed the grey lines she had already painted, then shifted back to her, moving to the next corner. "How'd you get so good at that? You're not using tape, yet I don't see a single bit of paint on the trim. I tried to paint one time- with tape and still fucked it up."

She let out a quick breathy laugh as she dipped the paintbrush and replied, "I took on a bunch of side jobs so I could afford to go to college. One of them was a small, local remodeling company. Started out doing grunt work-"

She never lost concentration as she spoke. Her words flowed out of her mouth as easily as the paint flowed from the brush.

"-then one of the painters had to move. Instead of hiring someone new, the owner taught me to paint."

He listened intently as he admired how effortlessly she worked the brush.

"Worked with that company for about a year before the owner recommended me for a job at a home construction company. I did that full-time and loved it so much- I decided to change my major to construction management."

A curious expression appeared on Han's face as he tilted his head. "What was your original major?"

She started laughing as she turned around to face him. "Ironically- criminal justice."

Han widened his eyes with fascination as she turned back around to continue. "I guess I should've stuck with it- I probably would've known how not to kidnapped-"

Han immediately launched forward and busted out laughing. "Lily, what the fuck!" He exclaimed as he struggled to control his laughter.

"Then again-" She continued as she sat the paint tray on the ground. "I wouldn't have been sold to the eight hottest men on the planet- only to become a badass mafia boss-"

She stepped over and straddled him, lowering into his lap, facing him. He wrapped his arms around her waist as she wrapped hers around the back of his neck. His laughter calmed as they shared an adoring yet playful gaze.

"-all while making them fall hopelessly in love with me." She finished with a playful smirk as she tapped his nose with the tip of her finger.

He let out a quick, airy chuckle as he shook his head. "Is it fucked up to be thankful for your kidnapping?"

She threw her head back in a quick fit of laughter. "It's very fucked up!" She replied in a mocking tone. "But I guess I'm just as fucked up because if I had the chance to go back, I'd do it all over again- without hesitation if I knew it would lead me here."

They shared adoring smiles as he pressed his forehead to hers and whispered, "You're crazy, you know that?"

She flashed a cheeky grin and nodded her head. "Mhmm! Crazy bout you." She replied as she closed the gap between them and pressed her lips to his.

A few moments into their simple, yet lingering kiss, he felt a light flick against his stomach. He smiled against her lips as he slid his hands from her hips to her stomach and swiped his thumbs back and forth, while pressing his lips further into hers.

She smiled back, realizing that her stomach was pressed against his enough to feel what she had felt.

After a few more moments of their intimate exchange, she pulled away from from him and playfully slapped his shoulders. "Baby boy, you're distracting me."

She pressed her hands into his shoulders to lift herself from his lap. He chuckled as he gently gripped her hips to help her up.

As she picked up the paint tray to continue, Han glanced around at the unpainted edges against the ceiling and the higher corners. "Question." He curiously said. "Actually two."

She peeked over her shoulder, giving him a quick glance. "Ok, what's your question? Or questions?" She asked, annunciating the 's' as she pressed the brush back against the wall.

Han lounged back in his original position and continued. "One- How did you convince Seungmin to allow you to paint while pregnant? And two- how are you gonna paint the top? Because I KNOW you won't be allowed on a ladder."

She laughed again and used the handle of her brush to point at the paint can sitting beside him. "Non toxic, oderless paint." She turned back around and coated the brush as she continued. "And I will be on a ladder- with one of you on the gound behind me caging me in so there's no chance of falling. I only have to go up a couple of steps, anyway."

She noticed paint had gotten on her thumb so she instinctively swiped it across her pant leg, as she would frequently do with her work pants.

He nodded and replied as he arched his brows. "Makes sense. Ok- one more question."

She dropped her head and swayed it from side to side as she giggled. "What's that, baby boy?"

He smirked as she looked back at him. He trailed his eyes to the paint smear she had just created, then locked eyes with her in a playfully accusing manor. "Are those my pants you just wiped paint on?"
