Lily twisted her body to look at Dae, who was sitting in the back seat next to Han. "Ok, we're almost there. You'll be searched when we arrive, but don't worry. I'll be right there with you, and the man searching you is extremely respectful and professional. There will be guards- all with weapons. Again, don't worry. You will literally be in one of the safest places in Korea."
Dae's expression was filled with concern, yet the curiosity was far more prominent.
"Also-" Lily continued with a more serious expression. "I haven't told you what I do, but you need to know- I am a totally different person when I walk into that room. Please don't let it scare you."
Chan and Changbin, who were sitting behind Han and Dae, began snickering. "Princess, you still scare us with that shit." Changbin said teasingly, yet with a serious undertone.
"I'll ask again. What the hell am I in for?" Dae asked with a slight giggle.
Leeknow glanced at Dae through the rear view mirror, then immediately shifted focus back to the road as he replied, "Just know- if at any point, it gets too much to handle, let us know and we'll take you out of the observation room."
Dae smiled and nodded. "Thanks, but I'm sure I'll be fine."
Lily smiled and reached back to place her hand on Dae's knee. "One last thing. Are you absolutely sure you're ok with what we talked about? I can delete it now and go with plan b."
Dae's expression softened. She looked down at her fidgeting fingers, then back up at Lily. "No one will see the picture, right?"
Lily shook her head and confidently replied. "Not a soul. I'll position it where it can't be seen through the window or the security cameras."
The men looked at each other with slight confusion but didn't question, understanding the lack of details in their conversation.
"Then yes. I'm sure." Dae replied with a confident smile.
Lily nodded and turned back around, facing the front. Leeknow glanced at her and smiled as he reached over the center console and placed his hand on her thigh.
Dae noticed the action and flashed a soft smile that was immediately overthrown by overwhelming anxiety when the van turned and pulled into the old warehouse.
Lily turned around to face Dae again, "Remember- you're safe. We're all right here."
Dae took a deep breath and nodded as the van rolled to a stop.
As soon as they exited the van, Tablo stepped toward them. "It's about time you come see us, Ms. Lily." Tablo said as bowed to her.
She cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes at him with a playful smile. "Tabby, I could've sworn I told you to drop the 'Ms. Lily' shit and for christ's sake, I'm not the damn queen of England. Stop bowing to me."
He laughed as he held his hands up in defense. "Sorry. Purely habit." He looked to the boys as they gathered beside them. "Chan, Han- good to see ya again." He said as he shook each of their hands. "Leeknow, Changbin- getting kinda tired of seeing your asses."
Changbin formed his lips in an exaggerated pout as Leeknow replied, "Feeling's mutual shithead."
Lily giggled and rolled her eyes at the interaction as she placed her hand on Dae's back. "This is Dae. She knows what to expect, so let's get this over with. I'm ready to play."
Tablo laughed and bowed in Dae's direction. "Ma'am. It's a pleasure to meet you. If I may?" He asked as he approached her.
Dae nodded as Lily huffed and glared at him. "You ass! My first time here, I got yelled at and held at gunpoint." She said in a jokingly offended tone.
As he carefully searched Dae, he replied with a sarcastic tone. "We didn't trust you then. And if she had come alone, she would've been held at gunpoint. You're just mad I never bought you dinner."
"You're right! I am! So fucking rude." She said as she dramatically stomped her foot, while crossing her arms over her chest, and turning up her nose.
The guys stood back and laughed at the behavior that they had grown used to. Dae stared in confusion but was amused by the banter. Without realizing it, her anxiety over the situation had faded.
She was so distracted that she had forgotten she was being searched until Tablo raised up and said, "All clear."
He turned to Lily and said, "I'll buy you dinner if you quit calling me Tabby."
"HA! Not a chance, Tabby." She retorted, shaking her head. "Dae, honey, I'm sorry he's rude and didn't offer to buy you dinner first. I guess you can't teach old dogs new tricks."
Dae immediately locked eye with him. A shy grin played on her lips when he smiled at her. He quickly turned and began walking toward the elevator. "JK is waiting- MS. Lily."
Lily glared at the back of his head as the group filed in behind him. "Someone give me something to throw at him."
Chan shook his head and laughed out. "Babygirl, why must you torture him?"
Dae laughed and replied, "I think it's because he didn't buy her dinner."
Everyone erupted in laughter, not expecting Dae to comment.
"Exactly! See! She understands!" Lily replied as they entered the elevator.
Tablo pressed the button before giving Dae a quick glance, followed by a smirk.
Lily's eyes slightly widened when she saw the hint of red appear on his cheeks and ears. She quickly glanced at Dae, who was smiling while shyly tucking a stand of hair behind her ear.
Suddenly, the elevator started moving, causing a loud creaking noise. "Um- is this like the elevator to hell or something?" Dae asked, scowling at the noise.
Tablo laughed and looked back at her. "For some- yea I guess you could say that."
Before she could respond, the doors opened. Tablo and Dae immediately stepped out leaving Lily and the four men staring at each other. Some stunned, some amused.
"Good. I'm clearly not the only one who saw all that." Lily stated with a mischievous grin before turning and stepping out.
"Definitely saw it." Han whispered as they followed her out of the elevator.
"Sparky!" JK shouted as he walked toward Lily with outstretched arms. "Look at you! Absolutely glowing!"
An excited smile stretched across her face as he wrapped his arms around her and gently swayed her from side to side. "Thank you, Uncle J. Were you able to get the stuff for me?"
He stepped back and arched his brow as he replied with a smug tone. "Now, Sparky. Did you really feel the need to ask that?"
