5 Reasons To Love Again

Chapter 47

I noticed that he had some extra pillows on my side of the bed. I glanced at him shyly not knowing wether to lie down or sit up and watch television. Wyatt sensed my dilemma and solved the problem by fluffing up all the pillows and moving them towards the middle of the headboard.

"Here, I thought that we could watch tv for a while and maybe talk." he said to me and pulled me in his arms and lay back with the pillows propping us up to a semi sitting position. I moved around a little and got comfortable.

"What would you like to watch?" he asked me.

"Are there any reruns of Futurama on right now?"

"You like Futurama! That's great! I thought that I was the only one in the house who did."

"It's one of my favorite things to watch before I go to sleep."

Wyatt scrolled through the listings and found it.

"Yes! Got it on."

We cuddled and laughed at the antics of the space crew. We chatted during commercials, getting to know each other better. I discovered that he has had a love of computers and technology from a young age and he found out that I like to make jewelry as a hobby.

"Promise to show me some pieces that you made."

"I will." 

We looked at each other smiling. Wyatt sighed and said, "I wish that I could kiss you but I don't want you getting sick too."

"At least you got to kiss me last night."

He grinned, "Yeah, I did. I would have kissed you a little more had I known that I would get sick."

I gave him a kiss on his forehead and said, "Well, get better soon and I promise to kiss you a lot!"

He laughed and cuddled me closer. We started to talk about different things again and soon the subject turned to the future. "What do you see for yourself and Lexine?" he asked me.

"I used to think that it was going to be just the two of us. I was so sure that nobody would want us. But now.... we found a family that does want us. I see a future for us here. As long as we are wanted, that is."

Sneaking a shy glance at Wyatt's face, I saw a look of relief on his face that turned to tenderness as his hazel eyes gazed at me. "I speak for my brothers as well as myself when I say that you and Lexine will always be wanted here with us. I can't imagine life without you now." He gave a chuckle, "I remember the first time that I saw you. Soaking wet, only wearing a towel looking terrified of Preston. That really was not his finest moment. I wanted to scoop you up and take you to my room and get the scared look off your pretty face."

"Can you believe that it was like only a week ago? It seems much longer than that." I said. "Here I am with five incredibly handsome guys."

He looked surprised. "You think that we are handsome?"

"Yes! Of course I do."

He nuzzled his face into my hair. "You really are perfect for us."

I reveled in his touches and felt comforted. I started to feel sleepy and dozed off wrapped up in Wyatt's arms. I thought that I heard a faint buzz but I was too comfortable to wake up. I drifted off into a deep sleep.

Gentleman's Meeting

Wyatt: Thanks for holding this upstairs. I'm still feeling a little tired and weak.

Preston: No problem Wyatt. How's it going with her so far?

Wyatt: Pretty good. We just talked and I got to know her a little better. She makes jewelry as a hobby!

Brady: She does? I wonder if she made the necklace she was wearing the other day.

Jake: I have a feeling that she has more talents than she realizes.

Chase: It wouldn't surprise me.

Preston: Ok, lets get down to business first. I made an appointment with North to get her car worked on for Wednesday afternoon. One of us will take her car there. Let's check our schedules on Tuesday to see who's available. Next, I got Victor and Luke from the Blackbourne team to install some cameras in Meyer's office, so we will have eyes on Delphine. The former employees won't talk so I don't trust Meyer at all.

Jake: I managed to review the footage from the Folly Beach area. I saw Gene Murdoch taking surveillance photos of Delphine. Someone hired that pathetic PI to keep tabs on her. I still need to find out who.

Brady: I'd like to beat the info out of Gene but I guess it's better if we try to figure out who's hired that ass.

Preston: I think that we should keep tabs on Gene as well.

Chase: I'm still working with Wyatt on locating that autopsy. The coroner's office thinks that it might have gotten put in a wrong file. On a different note, I know that things with Delphine have been escalating from kissing to a little more with some of us. I'm trying to get her to agree to a checkup before we take things to the final level with her. I just want to make sure that she is ok physically and is good to go. I'm not sure if she wants to have more children so there are still some subjects that need to be covered with her. As for Lexine, I've got her scheduled for a physical in a few weeks.

Preston: We understand. Everyone will wait on sex until the go ahead. Does anyone have anything else to add?

Brady: She would like for Lexine to have her own room. It was hard for her to ask for it. I told her that we would do it.

Preston: Good! She is starting to voice her needs. We can arrange for Gabriel to design it if she would like.

Wyatt: She told me tonight that she would like to stay here with Lexine for as long as they are wanted. She sees a future for them here with us.  And that she thinks that all of us are handsome!

(There are pleased smiles all around)

Preston: I think that our family day tomorrow will serve more than one purpose. We need to tell her about the Academy. If she is receptive to it, we will all ask her to stay in a committed relationship with us. If for some reason she is not ok with the Academy, and decides to leave...The closed adoption was finalized this morning so no matter what they will always be taken care of.

Wyatt: If you could have seen her face when she was telling me about staying here.. The information about the Academy won't change her mind. I'm sure of it!

(The men nod their heads in agreement and murmur)

Preston: Alright men. Meeting adjourned!

Wyatt's POV

I quietly made my way back into the room. Delphine was sleeping on her side and her beautiful dark wavy hair was spread out over the pillows. I just stood there wondering how we got so lucky. She was so perfect for us! I wanted to make sure that nothing hurt her or Lexine. I was worried about who hired the sleazy PI and about her working in that Jerks office. Deciding to use the bathroom, I went in there and brushed my teeth and took care of mother nature's needs. Sliding into bed again, I spooned Delphine and it just felt so right having her in my arms and in my bed. She stirred slightly at my touch and wriggled a little closer to me and the brush of her cute butt against my groin caused something to wake up. I gritted my teeth and thought of one hundred unpleasant things until I got myself under control. Slowly I relaxed and drifted off to sleep holding the woman of my dreams.
