Jake is tossing and turning in bed. He can't sleep. He sits up. His eyes looking over towards the sleeping male beside him. Before he quietly got out of bed. He slipped on his zipup and walked out of the bedroom. Softly closing the door behind him.

Carrington stirred slightly as he felt the bed shift, his eyes fluttering open. He glanced over and saw that Jake was no longer beside him.sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and looking towards the closed door. He could hear faint footsteps outside, and he knew something was up.

Carrington got out of bed and quietly made his way to the door, opening it and stepping out into the hallway. He followed the sound of the footsteps, trying to figure out where Jake had gone.

Jake is downstairs. Slipping on his ugg slippers as he scratched the back of his messy black hair. He grabbed his phone and keys and began to head to the front door.

Carrington followed the sound of movement downstairs and saw Jake getting ready to leave. He frowned, a concerned expression on his face.

"Hey, where are you going, Jakey?" he asked, his voice laced with worry. "It's late, why are you leaving?"

Jake looked over. His brown eyes having a dull look to them. He bit on his snakebites and replied, "Just out for a moment, hon."

Carrington studied Jake's expression, noticing the dullness in his eyes. He could tell something was off.

"A moment?" he repeated, taking a step closer. "What do you mean, just a moment Jake? You're not going out for a walk or something, are you?"

"More like– as a drive than a walk but yeah" Jake shrugged it off. He rests a hand on the door knob.

Carrington's frown deepened as he continued to study Jake. He could sense that something was bothering him, but he didn't want to push too hard.

"A drive at this hour?" he asked, taking another step closer. "Are you okay? You seem...off."

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm okay" Jake replied. "Don't worry honey, I'll be right back. Kay?" He smiled a little as he opened the door.

Carrington's concern grew as Jake insisted he was fine. He knew his boyfriend well enough to know that something was definitely off.

"Jake..." he said, his voice soft but firm. "Please, talk to me. You can't just go out at this hour and expect me not to worry."

Jake sighed as he walked over. He kissed Carrington's cheek and then walked out of the house without any other word.

Carrington watched as Jake walked out the door, a mixture of worry and confusion on his face. He stood there for a moment, feeling a sense of unease in the pit of his stomach.

He wanted to go after Jake, to ask him what was wrong, but he also didn't want to push too hard. He knew that sometimes Jake needed space to process things on his own.

But the longer Jake was gone, the more restless Carrington became. He paced back and forth in the living room, glancing at the clock every few minutes, waiting for Jake to come back.

After an hour or so, Jake's car pulled into the driveway. He parks it and exited the car. Shutting the car door and locking his car up.

Carrington heard the sound of Jake's car pulling into the driveway and he immediately rushed to the window, peering outside to see his boyfriend getting out of the car.

He watched as Jake locked the car and made his way to the front door. Carrington waited anxiously, his heart pounding in his chest as he wondered what had been going through Jake's mind during his absence.
