As much as I loved Elaine and wished to see her succeed, right now, all of my focus was on Comet while he faced the angel that was directly after Mother's projection, though this time, he was clearly in a disadvantageous position, which only made me smile since that meant, once he's defeated I'll be free to deal with him as I please, and I couldn't wait for that moment to arrive. My heart beat with exhilaration every time he received an injury, when he lost an exchange, or when he was pushed back, as it simply brought me one step closer to the moment when I'd get to personally deal with him.
'Hehe, I don't think I've ever felt so happy and furious at the same time.' Mused Elif with a wrathful expression as he closely watched Comet with a faint smirk while his potent Qi filled the entire coliseum, casting it in a deep shade of purple.
To have the audacity to so blatantly disrespect my Mother while I'm watching... It's hard to express the degree of stupidity one must have to even think about such things, let alone fall through with it.
The moments ticked by in silence; not a single person within the whole coliseum uttered a word, not even a simple noise; they didn't even dare to breathe, more like they couldn't, given the sheer pressure I was exerting on everyone. The only noise that was present was the faint humming emitting from the spire and my soft breathing, yet even that was only heard by the people within the booth.
"Y-Your Highness!" Stated Mandy loudly as she swiftly flew towards Elif while her men followed right behind, all of them sporting dignified expressions.
"W-What happened!?" Exclaimed Mandy as she stood at the front of the booth, placing herself as the first line of defense against anyone or anything that dared to attack her prince.
"Silence!" Said Illumia sternly with an emotionless face, her words carrying the strength of her Qi as they reached Mandy's ears, causing her to instantly nod while realizing the gravity of the situation.
I paid my royal guards no heed and continued to stare silently at the spire, waiting for Comet's body to appear underneath it. As time passed, Cordelia, Tiamat, Aurora, and Lucifer all rapidly progressed through the spire, nearly reaching Mother's spot, yet I gave them little attention; I just wished time could move faster.
Every minute felt like an agonizing year of waiting, though seeing Comet finally reach his limit was like seeing the sunny sky after surviving a heavenly tribulation; it was fantastic, to say the least. Summoning Hokori, I unsheathed my blade, tossing its scabbard randomly, though Maxim happened to catch it before it touched the ground, not that I cared right now; infusing it with my Qi, causing it to give off a faintish purple smoke, I gazed at my blade, which was that of a high Spirit tier artifact.
A high Spirit-tier artifact may have been lackluster to what I've got access to, but this was perfect for me; anything higher than that, and I wouldn't be able to truly bring out all of the strength the artifact is capable of displaying.
With this blade, I'd soak it in Comet's blood before killing him; at this point, I cared little for any repercussions I'd receive; besides, it's not like I need to be here at the Realm Sect to display my might and superiority over everyone. I'm Crown Prince Elif August; nothing more needs to be said... I'm superior to all these little ants I play around with.
After several minutes of watching and patiently waiting, it finally happened; Comet received an attack that would've ended his life, and unfortunately for him, he couldn't use his Immortal Will; it would have zero effect on a projection with no ego or dao heart. However, instead of being killed, his body was teleported out of the spire with a flash of light as he lay on the ground in exhaustion.
I, on the other hand, didn't think about what to do next; I simply moved, following through with my desire to kill Comet. The instant his body appeared on the ground, I lunged towards him as fast as I could, pushing the use of my movement technique to its limit to reach him just a little bit quicker, coating Hokori in sword will, causing it to give a sharper and dangerous feeling, I zeroed all of my focus on Comet and slashed down with every ounce of strength I could muster as I used my most proficient technique, Heavenly Scar.
