Floating within a void of cascading ethereal purple lights, I opened my eyes and turned my head, glancing at myself off in the distance; however, I couldn't help but furrow my brows as my focus intensified.
"Hmm, something isn't right. I just can't quite put my finger on it." Muttered Elif as he gently rubbed his chin while gazing at himself in the distance.
While staring at myself, trying to find what I found to be wrong, I happened to blink, prompting myself to suddenly appear standing before me, though now that he was so close, I could finally pinpoint what was wrong with my heart demon.
"Ahh, I see. Your eyebrows are a little too thick, your nose points ever so slightly to the right, your hair is slightly too short, you have a tiny mole on your chest, the muscle on your left bicep is a slightly irregular shape, your nails are a little too dark, same for the color of yours skin, your eyes aren't nearly as bright, and those are just what I can clearly see. Oh, I almost forgot, but you don't look intelligent. Though that could just be how all heart demons look." Remarked Elif calmly as his finger pointed throughout his heart demon, spotting various imperfections on his body before raising his head and gazing into its eyes.
"I'm a reflection of you, so what does that say?" Asked (HD)Elif with an uncanny smirk as he folded his arms and looked at Elif, who simply raised an eyebrow before shaking his head.
"No, you're not. A reflection would show a perfect copy, though, as I've just pointed out, you're clearly imperfect, so in that case, you're merely an imitation. A rather poor one at that; how could you make so many mistakes? I know emulating me is impossible, but you could've at least done better. A mole on my chest? That is plain embarrassing." Stated Elif calmly as he reluctantly stood upright while staring directly into the eyes of (HD)Elif, who sported an unsightly expression.
"Hmm, I also didn't notice it before, but you're slightly shorter than I am." Added Elif lightly as he moved his hand between him and (HD)Elif, who grew more frustrated by the second.
"Hmph, if that's so, then it shall really sting when you taste defeat at the hands of a so-called 'imperfect imitation', don't you think?" Stated (HD)Elif with a snarl as he forcefully grabbed Elif's hand before yanking it down, causing him to raise an eyebrow.
"You're not wrong, but this is all under the assumption I would ever lose. Unfortunately, despite being utterly perfect, I have tasted defeat... Once. Though that won't ever be happening again." Said Elif with a nod as he yanked his hand out of (HD)Elif's grasp before thrusting his palm into his chest, knocking him far off into the distance.
Flicking my hand, I gazed at (HD)Elif while commanding my Qi, intending to toy around with my heart demon; however, just as he stopped himself, the place we were in suddenly began to crack, illuminating the rather dim void.
"What is the meaning of this?" Asked (HD)Elif in slight confusion as he observed his surroundings before eyeing Elif, who was entirely composed, causing him to frown.
After a few more moments, the void suddenly shattered into millions of tiny black particles, and our surroundings changed to a rather familiar place I knew all too well.
"Hmm, Yggdrasil?" Mutted Elif in slight surprise as he observed the magnificent capital city of the Elven Immortal Empire.
While it was surprising to learn that Sarah's fight was taking place back home, it did make sense, considering that's where she spent most of her life, especially the unfortunate events.
Sensing the clashing of Qi in the distance, I glanced at (HD)Elif before turning around and flying to the battle off in the distance, which was in the direction of the Royal Palace.
