A years ago...

Nakatitig ako sa isang bata na abala sa pagkain, maybe she's around six years old. I secretly smile while watching her eat. She's cute while munching her food.

"Bro! Happy birthday! Syet! Gurang ka na!" Sigaw ng kung sino at dumamba sa akin. I tsked and remove his arm on me.

"Shut it, Rik. I'm just seventeen years old." I hissed at my friend. "Where's the others?" I ask him.

"Nasa loob na sila, ano bang ginagawa mo dito?" Tanong nito. Palihim kong binalingan ng tingin ang bata bago umiling.

"Wala, tara na." Sambit ko at hinila ito papasok ng bahay. Sinalubong naman ako ng mga kaibigan ko. Si Vin, Levi, Khael, Hades at Phoenix.

"Hey, happy birthday, Xie."

"Greetings, Ramirez."

"Enjoy your day."

"Happy birthday."

"Happy birthday, dude."

"Thank you." I simply said. Nagsimula ang event. Palakad-lakad ako sa buong lugar para i-entertain ang ibang bisita.

Nang mapagod ay pumunta ako sa pool area kung saan ko nakita yung batang babae kanina. I sat on the canopy chair and blow some air. I rest my back on the chair and close my eyes.

Nasa ganon akong posesyon ng may marinig akong mahihinang hikbi. Tumayo ako at hinanap kung saan iyon nanggaling at laking gulat ko ng makita yung bata kanina na nakaupo sa dulong bahagi ng lugar at nakayuko. Tumataas baba rin ang balikat nito, senyales na umiiyak.

I cleared my throat and crouched down.

"Hey..." Malumanay kong agaw sa atensyon nito. Dahan-dahan naman itong umangat ng tingin sa akin. Her beautiful brown eyes held mine. Hindi ko alam kung bakit kumabog bigla ng malakas ang aking puso ng magtagpo ang aming mga mata.

"Are you going to hurt me too?" She ask with her soft yet hard voice.

"No, baby. Why would I do that, hm?" Sagot ko sa malambing na tono.

"Kasi po lahat na lang sinasaktan ako, even my family. They always make me feel that I am not their favorite and it's hurts me." My eyes soften because of what she said.

"If they are hurting you, then hindi natin sila bati." Nakangiti kong ani. Nanlaki ang mga mata nito dahil sa narinig. "I didn't hurt you diba? So, bati tayo." I said. Unti-unti ay gumuhit ang isang matamis na ngiti sa labi nito. How I wish I always see that sweet smile on her lips.

"Talaga po?" She ask then wipe her tears off. Tinulungan ko ito.

"Hm..."

"Friends na po tayo?" Tanong nya. I nod. "I am Angylah, po. Ikaw po?"

"Xiever Lix."

"We're now friends, Lix!" I blink as my mind digest what did she just called me. Cute. "Basta, hindi na tayo bati if you hurt me like them." She reminds me. Napangiti ako bago magsalita.

"I won't hurt you, baby. That's my promise to you." I utter and kissed her temple.

Bumalik ako sa loob ng bahay. I invite Angylah to come inside but she said that she'll wait for her brother. Kaya ang ginawa ko na lang ay tinawag ko yung isa kong pinsan na halos kaedad nya lang para may makalaro sya habang naghihintay.

"Did you see my sister, Xie?" Phoenix ask me when I approached him.

"Nah, and I didn't know that you bring your sister with you. Wala kang sinabi and also, you didn't introduce her to us kaya hindi ko kilala ang kapatid mo." Sagot ko at namulsa. Alam kong may kapatid sya pero hindi ko ito kilala.

"It's Pan. Damn, I told her to wait for me." Problemadong bulong nito.

"Baka naman ay naglalaro lang kasama ang ibang mga bata." Saad ko upang mapanatag ang loob nito.

"No, she doesn't socialize with other kids."
