And what to do?
When the words just wouldn't come to you?
When the silence engulfs your heart and soul,
When your pen is stilled from writing more?
What do you do when your heart feels desolate?
When you look like you are struggling against the fate?
When your sword feels like its blunt and useless,
It's sharpness fading away like a dream...
What do you do when nothing works anymore?
When you have to remain silent but all you want to do is scream!
No prayer reaches the skies...
No answers are given for your questions...
Nothing matters...
Everything shatters...
What do you do?

Haraira

Taif sat before Muntaha with a bent head. The chamber was neat but throughout it were scattered the temporariness of their stay in it. The walls were slightly damp but they could still hold. It was one of their safe houses in Haraira, surrounded and kept an eye on by their men.

"What is the matter Ya Taif?" Muntaha asked him

"What is the matter Ya Taif?" Muntaha asked him.

"You knew about her. About who she was. You knew my past was here." He whispered.

"Yes." The answer was resolute. There was no sense of hesitation in his voice or that face.

"How do you know it?" Taif asked. "I lead the shadows and I honestly thought I had cut down all my ties, erased all my secrets." Taif's voice trembled. "Then how did you know?" Muntaha smiled.

"Why do you think forgetting you will be so easy for people?" Muntaha asked softly. "Not everyone forgot the extraordinary youth who won the favour of King Muhammad." Muntaha chided. "Paras bin Abeed. You were truly missed, loved and lovingly spied on by the people who still have you in their hearts. Not everyone can let you go and be a part of the shadows permanently." Taif's breath hitched. The recent run in with Nashwa had pushed him off kilter. He felt emotional and off balance, not realising what to do. The sheer magnitude of revelations had made him sensitive.

"I didn't know she was here." Taif let out a bitter chuckle. "I am an assassin, the leader of the shadows and yet, I didn't know that Haneen was Nashwa. I feel useless." Taif revealed in a rare moment of vulnerability.

"How could you know everything? You are just Al Aalim's slave. How much ever power you might have had, unless He wants to reveal it, nothing will be revealed." Muntaha answered.

"I met her. She is ready to help us get Queen Hareem out. Despite the bitterness she has for her cousin, the hatred she feels for Mansoor is higher." Taif's voice trembled told him.

"Then thats something to look forward to. Jasim knows the entrance to the new prison now. We will coordinate with the queen and try to get Queen Hareem out." Muntaha mused.

"Ath Thaair. I suggest you sit out of it. Let my shadows and I do the work." Taif suggested.

"I think not many people need to be involved in this. Infiltrating Mansoor's palace shouldn't attract attention. Be as inconspicuous as you can." Muntaha advised. Taif nodded his head. "I will ask Jasim to step back. He has already been caught once. He needs to hold his position here. Giving it away should only happen if it's absolutely necessary."
