hopefully this works well with the last chapter. I had to change a few things in this one to make it work and with luck I didn't over look anything.
Chapter 88. Summer is a time for fun.
It was now three week into the summer vacation; Snape was taking slow walks around the neighborhood at night. He preferred the quiet darkness to the bright days with its bustling noise and crowds of the day.
He walked slowly down the street toward the small playground that sat deserted in the dark. Severus looked over at the playground where many memories came back to him as he watched the swing move slightly with the small breeze that moved through the deserted grounds.
Snape remembered Lily and himself, playing here, after her school day had ended and she was free to have some fun before her dinner.
It was here that Lily had confessed to Severus that she had no real friends at school that Severus was her first true friend aside from Petunia. The other children at school had shunned her and would tease her endlessly for her peculiar ways and were scared of her unnatural abilities. The hardest part was after Snape had told her what she was and how it was a great thing. Lily had gone back to school to tell the others that she was a witch and it was a good thing that she could do magic. This though had not gone over well and Lily had found her self the subject for even more ridicule and pain and resentment when her older sister Petunia did not stand up for her and had in front of others called her a freak, which was soon the thing that others had taken up.
Lily had grown to hate her school and had told Snape she wished that she too could be taught at home like he was.
Snape had told her that his mother was not the best teacher and was usually angry and yelling at his father who was constantly screaming and hitting his mother. Snape had hated his home life and was counting the days before he would leave it all behind him.
Snape had told Lily at that time that others would be jealous because they didn’t understand why they were not lucky enough to be here.
Lily had appreciated his words of comfort and hugged him tightly, as she had stopped the swing to grab him on his own swing.
Snape had after that loved to swing and had without telling her had gone to use a few potions he had stolen from his mother and had slipped it into the drinks of a the kids who tormented Lily the most. There was a nasty case of angry rashes that had broken out on several children that week.
Snape never told her, but he had vowed to him self that he would always watch over Lily and protects her from pain and anguish caused by others.
Severus heard a loud laughter coming near him, he slipped easily into the darkness where he was swallowed up by it and unseen by the group of five boys all walking and talking loudly, while laughing at their own jokes.
Snape looked at the largest boy; he had a pig like face and blonde hair. Snape had never met him personally and only seen him once at his home but the appearance and the description he had over heard Harry Potter telling Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley it had to be his cousin Dudley Dursley.
“He really does look like a pig in a wig.” Snape chuckled to him self as he remembered the way Harry described his large dumb cousin.
“I’m not surprised since Petunia married that bone head Vernon; poor kid never had a chance at looks or brains.” Snape watched them walking away toward Privet drive.
He walked slowly behind them as the boys all stopped in front of a house. Snape knew the house as the one Lily had grown up in. he had not been back in a long time and only went there two weeks ago to check on Harry for Dumbledore.
