Chapter 127
Snape’s unwanted guest.
The night sky was filled with twinkling stars above. Snape had left his house at Spinners End to go meet with his Dark Lord Voldermort. He had been summoned to meet with him at the Malfoy’s manor, even though he had barely returned home from the school for the summer break.
Snape took a deep breath and said to the night sky the thing he always said before going to meet with the Dark Lord.
“Lily, please give me strength to do this, to face him and keep my emotions in check.” Snape would continue to look to the dark sky as though waiting to hear Lily’s voice softly tell him she would be with him.
Snape smiled sadly as the voice he wanted to hear more then anything was never heard, but in his deepest hearts wish she would always tell him she was with him.
Snape disapperated and was soon on the outer skirts of the Malfoy’s home. Snape walked toward the home. The darkness was great for concealing him self within it as he walked to their home, it wasn’t long and he saw the large row of hedges growing with the white peacock that always seemed to wander around the grounds. Snape walked up to the large iron gate.
“I have a meeting with the Dark Lord.” Snape said to the air as he lifted his left arm, the gate melting away from him. Snape walked up to the large double doors with the marble stairs.
Snape waited at the door, he resisted the urge to use the extendable ear he had bought from the Weasley twins. He did have to admit to himself those two did have some good uses.
“Come in Severus.” A cool female voice said to him.
The door had opened slowly, a lovely if snobbish looking blonde woman was standing at the door.
“Severus, it’s so good to see you, the Dark Lord is in the other room.” Narcissa was looking a bit haggard; she did not look her usual arrogant radiance he had come to associate with her. The effects of her husband, now residing in Azkaban was really taking its toll on her.
“Hello Narcissa, it is good to see you this evening.” Snape smiled warmly. Not that I really had a choice but to come here. Snape thought bitterly.
“Please Severus come in.” Narcissa moved aside allowing Snape to walk into the grand hall. Snape had seen it many times before and was hardly impressed with it or the family who lived here. He knew that at one time he had been a great friend with Lucius but that friendship had ended years ago, now when he visits it was all pretenses to put up a good show for them.
“How is Draco?” Snape asked warmly knowing their son was going to be in a world of pain; with his father in prison and because of Potter. his rival at school.
That Potter has the devils own luck. Snape thought with a trace of humor.
“He is as well as can be expected. I still don’t see how it could have all gone so wrong.” Narcissa confided as she walked down the hall way with Snape besides her. Narcissa seemed to be on the verge of tears as she stood in front of the large double door that led to the large ornamental dinning table for guests when they wanted to impress people with their wealth.
Snape knew that the Dark Lord would want nothing less then the most impressive.
“Do not fear; Narcissa we shall soon have your husband back by your side.” Snape said comfortingly. Narcissa grabbed his hand holding it tight. “Thank you Severus, you always was a great friend.” Narcissa held his hand for several minute leaving Snape to feel more uncomfortable with each passing minute. Snape tried to think of something to say to her to ease her pain. He may not care for her but she had been a friend and he didn’t want to see her hurting this much. Snape finally pulled her into his arms making soft sounds to her.
