Chapter 106
Snape had packed up some clothes he was feeling, good. He knew Harry had left for the Weasley’s and was glad he would be gone from the home he hated.
Severus apperated to the thick woods and was glad to use some of the Muggle money he had kept for odd reasons. He was also glad after watching a group of wizards who were totally clueless about Muggle money that he had learn all about it from Lily who grew up with it. He paid the man then walked to where the man Mr. Roberts had told him to go. Snape found a small sign that said S. Snapee. He smiled at the extra E in his name as he quickly pulled the tent out from the duffel bag he was using to carry his things. Severus gave his wand an easy wave so that the tent was set up and ready to go.
“Shame, shame, we are not to use magic with Muggles so close by.” A humorous voice spoke up. Snape turned around to see a man he knew from school who was now working at the Ministry of Magic. Snape smiled as he greeted the man. “Good to see you Benson, I see you’re working here.” Severus commented as he gave his wand a wave and two chairs appeared for them both.
Benson a large blonde laughed, as he took a seat. “Yeah it’s not as fun as when we were working for…” The man looked around a grin spreading over his rough face. “The Dark Lord, but I did prefer to stay out of Azkaban with the others.”
Snape laughed as he waved his wand bringing out a bottle of elf wine and two glasses.
“I too prefer the position I have to a stint in that rotting cesspool.” Severus smiled as he poured the wine into the glasses. He handed one glass to Benson who took it with a smile.
“To the Dark Lord and all our friends,”
“To the ones who died in his service to make a better place for us all,” Snape toasted as they drank their wine.
“You always did have a taste for this fine wine, a bit pricey but very excellent wine.” Benson eyed his glass favorably.
Snape smirked at him. “Nothing but the best for me,” Snape grinned even more as he downed his wine and poured them both some more.
“So you came to watch the finals huh.”
“I was given a ticket, you remember Igor, the one who… turn over so many friends…” Snape said wondering how Benson would take it.
Benson grunted roughly. “Yeah I remember him, I’m so glad he was unable to rat me out like so many others.”
“Yes pretending to be something I was not had also saved me from that fate.” Snape grinned; he knew if it had not been for Dumbledore he would have found himself in front of Crouch who was all too willing to toss anyone into Azkaban for the slightest reasons.
The man nodded his head, “that is all so true, but the good news is that several of our friends are here for the match and we’ve all brought our umm for want of a better word uniforms….” He smiled wickedly at Snape who curled his lip in a small smile. “Indeed”
“Well I had better get back to work, thanks for the wine.” He told him wishing he could get drunk instead.
At this time a very happy Bagman came prancing along in his very bright yellow and black old Quiddich robes. Snape’s eyes widen for a fraction of a moment before he closed them speaking softly to his friend. “ I so didn’t need to see that!”
Benson looked to see Ludo and his smile turned into a sneer.
“Aaah yes our head of Sports and Games, Ludo Bagman, he is… enthusiastic.”
Snape turned from the sound of Bagman walking and talking happily to others.
“Yes he is quite … animated…” Snape agreed.
