Chapter 69 Trust not misplaced.

Lily sat in the Three Broomsticks with James, Sirius, Remus and Peter. The two were happily retelling the other three about their adventure for the Order and how they had retrieved the large golden book right from under Voldermort’s nose.

They were all laughing loudly at this and how they had ran through the woods to a place they could dissapetate safely from without ending back up in the woods.

Sirius and Remus laughed loudly as Lily told about their exit from the woods right into a large nest of Death Eaters.

The five did not notice that in a far corner was Severus who was watching Lily intently. He could tell that she and James were recounting their escape from Voldermort. Snape had to admit it was impressive and Voldermort was very angry when he had finally emerged from the woods only to learn that they had managed to escape from them as well. Snape was very glad he was not closest to Voldermort when he emerged from the woods, the one to feel his wrath for his losing them, was screaming long and hard into the night.

Snape lifted his glass in salute to her as he watched her laughing at her table. He wished though he was laughing over there with her. Snape frowned when James pulled her in close kissing her once again. Severus had felt sicken at the sight of James holding her and kissing her constantly. It was hard enough to know she had married him and was now going out on assignments alone with him, without having to see James across the bar from him carrying on like he was.

It wasn’t long before the five left the bar with a wave to Rosemerta. Snape soon left the pub himself, he wanted nothing more than to get home and relax. He would of course be dreaming of Lily and the life he wanted them to have together.

It was several weeks later that Snape had seen Lily again; she was walking down the street talking with a group of girls from school. He recognized the five girls and was surprised to see the pretty blonde girl Shanda holding a cute little baby girl in her arms. Lily and the other girls were all oohing and aahing over the baby girl as they walked along the street.

Snape wondered absentmindedly if any of the other girls were part of the order.

He looked at the girls walking along with Lily. He figured Alice Longbottom was since he had already found out her husband Frank was. Snape was not too sure about Tara, Diane and Mary; they really didn’t seem the type to be part of something that could put them into danger. Snape thought Shanda might but was unsure if she’d want to endanger herself if she had a child.

Snape soon lost sight of them as they turned a corner down the street. They were not his assignment and he was not going to follow Lily around in case he was found out and it put her into danger. He went on to Burgin and Burke’s for a rare elixir and a poison pendent. He had talked with his master and assured him he could alter their curse so that his master could use them without any harm coming to him but should anyone else try they would die a horrible death as a result of it. He sighed sadly since he was looked down on by the others for messing around with potions and dark artifacts. He knew they were being for short sighted since he could do more with dark things and knew more about it than they ever dreamed of. But they were happy to believe the Dark Lord favored them for going out and stealing, raping and burning down Muggle buildings. It did not take him long to buy the items and a few more he found there. He chuckled when Borgin warned him of the dangers.

“No need to tell me to be careful.” He told him in his soft silky voice.

“Of course sir, have a good day.”

Snape nodded his head and left the store with his bag in a carefully charmed box he had brought with him.

Severus was at his home in Spinner’s End a few weeks later sitting with a glass of his favorite Elf wine. Snape was bored; he was swishing the wine around his glass, looking at nothing and seeing nothing when the front door opened up.
