Chapter 129

Snape had left his home at Spinners End. He had already kicked Peter out of his home saying he needed time to prepare for classes. The new school year was soon to start and he had gone to visit with the Dark Lord who was wondering what was going on with the school and Dumbledore and if there was anything new now. Snape knew there was something indeed new, he was finally given the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts and was thrilled to be teaching a subject he loved as much as potions. He had yet to report this news since he knew Voldermort would want to know who was taking his place as Potions master, he did indeed know and was sure that the Dark Lord would not be pleased. He was also wondering if he should reveal this since it would get back to him when the students showed up there for classes and saw him teaching the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He knew it would be better to tell him himself then to let one of the students tell him. He would lose face with the Dark Lord for not telling him something this important. Snape walked down the drive to the Malfoy’s home where the Dark Lord was still residing, he seemed to prefer it to other places and the home in Little Hangleton was no longer available for use after the old care taker was found dead the owner had decided to sell the house and it was now being lived in by a large family of ten. They seemed to enjoy the colorful history behind the house and had fixed it up fairly well from what Snape had seen when he went there to spy on the family for Voldermort, who was sorely disappointed it was just an odd family of Muggles but knew the house was a lost cause now and had moved in with the Malfoy’s, this was of course what had brought Narcissa to visit him during the summer, just after he had been saddled with Wormtail as a house guest. Snape saw Crabbe and Goyle walking down the drive toward the front gate a disappointed look on their faces.

The two boys looked up surprised to see their teacher there.

“Hello Professor Snape,” Both boys said dully as they spotted him walking toward them.

“Hello boys, here to see Draco?” Snape said softly.

“Yeah but he wasn’t here so his mum sent us away, are you here to see his mum?” Goyle asked wonderingly.

“Aaah no I am here to see the Dark Lord, private business so don’t bother asking boys.” Snape figured he’d head them off before they asked to many questions; they did look impressed by this news though as they smiled and walked quickly down the drive with eager looks behind them. Snape proceeded on to the house where a man he knew open the door with a grin on his face.

“Snape good to see you,”

“LeStrange, it's good to see you as well, is the Dark Lord available?” Snape asked softly. LeStrange nodded his head.

“Yeah he's in the drawing room, come on in, he’ll be most pleased to see you.”

Snape walked inside with LeStrange as they headed for the drawing room, Snape saw Bellatrix come from the dinning room followed by Narcissa, who was still looking as withdrawn and unhappy with her lot in life right now as she could look.

“Snape, how are you?” Bellatrix asked in a softer tone then last time, which his making the unbreakable vow with Narcissa had warmed her up to Snape considerable, he wish he had not found favor in her eyes from it though, he himself could hardly stand being around the woman.

“Severus, it's good of you to come,” Narcissa walked over to Snape and hugged him tightly, causing Bellatrix to frown and her husband to smirk.

“How are you doing Narcissa?” Snape asked politely as he released her with a gentle push to get her to let go of him.

Narcissa looked as though she wanted to say more then could be expressed with her sister and husband nearby.

“I am fine, the Dark Lord is in here, please come.” Narcissa lead the way with her sister and husband following behind them.
