Chapter 98. A bogus Snape.
Snape was sitting in the teachers lounge, he was drinking a cup of tea and reading the Daily Prophet, it was of course full of ridiculous things about the right ways of doing potions, why the Dark Arts was seeking you out. Several small things about Harry Potter and of course how to protect your self against Black who was still on the loose but people were sure they had seen him and he would very soon be caught and back in Azkaban where he belonged. Snape glared again at the once handsome face at the one which now looked gaunt and worn with long matted hair and sad looking eyes that seemed to say I accept my punishment, until now. Snape gritted his teeth, as he looked at the man his whole body shaking with suppressed anger. “I want you caught Black, I want you dead.” He mumbled as he looked at the picture of the man who had lead to Lily’s death.
It was then the door to the staff room opened up with Remus walking in followed by his third year students. Severus looked hard at the man he was sure would not betray Black even though Black had proved to be disloyal, and he saw no reason why Remus would be any different.
Snape sat watching Remus with loathing, “Leave it open, Lupin I rather not witness this.”
Severus stood up from his chair and strode past the watching students. Snape stopped for a moment feeling very resentful as he turned to look back at Lupin.
“Possibly no one’s warned you, Lupin but this class contains Neville Longbottom, I would advice you not to entrust him with anything difficult. Not unless Miss Granger is hissing instructions in his ear.”
Snape at this time was feeling angry and didn’t care that Neville was turning pink or that Potter was glaring at him.
Remus raised his eyebrows at Snape in the same infuriating way that he had in school, when talking about Peter Pettigrew.
“I was hoping that Neville would assist me with the first stage of the operation,” Lupin said gently, “and I’m sure he will perform it admirably.”
Snape’s lip curled up at this, it was just how it had been in school. Snape left quickly slamming the door behind him.
“He always did have faith in that little no nothing git in school and where did it land him, dead with only a finger left, all because of Potter.” Severus growled under his breath. He stormed off down the corridor to his office.
Gliding along side him was Lily who was looking desperately sadden at him. He reached his office and went inside to finish reading his paper there.
“Actually it landed Peter in a nice loving home as the rat he is. Please Sev, don’t let hate and anger cloud your good judgment, Lupin really is a great guy.” Lily floated in close to him kissing his cheek softly before floating away from him, and back into the staff room where Lupin was explaining about Boggarts.
Lily cuddled up next to James as they watched Remus teaching the class, they were both very impressed with his teaching methods and the care and respect he showed everyone, which was shown right back to him. Lily had a few times walloped Draco over the head when he made fun of Lupin for his clothing.
“Evil git,” Lily would say every time she tried to beat him senseless.
James roared with laughter when Neville had spoken up enough to say what he was most frightened of. “That is so funny, poor kid.” James laughed. Lily looked sadly at him.
James roared even louder when Lupin asked about his grandmothers clothing.
“He’s gonna do it, he is that is brilliant.” James yelled with laughter. It was not long before the Boggart Snape was dressed in a long green dress, with a large red purse and a hat with a vulture perched on it.
