Chapter 101

Snape felt horrible for Harry to have his prize broom smashed to bits because of a violent tree, it seemed a harsh way to lose something you loved. Severus went through his days, as always he would wake up and talk to Lily and then eat breakfast, teach his classes, have some lunch then teach some more classes then have dinner. He found the time going by quickly; it was already the end of November, when he walked into the class to see Fred and George entertaining the masses.

“Take your seats now or lose house points… Again.” Snape told them silkily. They reluctantly took their seats.

Severus waved his wand at the board and the recipe for the day’s potion appeared on the board.

“Most of you should have no trouble with this potion, for the ones who can not follow simple instructions I don’t expect you to understand this and get it right.” Snape looked around at the class, his eyes landing on George and Fred. “I expect you both to do it right and not to test what happens when you don’t follow the recipe.” He looked at them knowingly from past experiences with them.

“Sir you wound us deeply, we always do as were told.” Fred said in a hurt voice, his eyes still shone with laughter though.

“I am sure you do…. When you are forced to now get to work all of you,” Severus waved his wand so that the student cupboard open up for them to get some of the ingredient they might be low on.

Snape could see Fred and George snickering behind the hands as they started in on their potions. He was not surprised that halfway through the class that their cauldron starting hissing and spitting up large quantities of violet goo.

“What did I say about following the recipe and doing it right?” he wondered if a good hexing might make them listen to him.

“You don’t remember sir?” Fred asked sounding horrified.

“How are we suppose to do this right when you can’t remember what we’re suppose to do?” George asked sounding just as astonished as his brother.

“Very droll, now why did you stir it to the left when the instructions clearly sat to stir it to the right?”

”Oh you meant our right not your right,”

”Damn I knew we should have asked to have that clarified.” George gave his twin a pouty look.

Snape felt his eyebrows rise up at this. “I see so I should tell you two which is your right and left each time you are required to do some work in here?” He asked in soft tones.

“Hmmm that depends?” Fred said seriously.

“On what might I ask,” he was intrigued to what they would come up with.

”Oh yes you can ask,” Fred look at him smiling pleased. There were a few gasps and some snickering.

“Well,” Snape said sounding as though they might be heading for the gallows soon.

“On whether we are facing you or standing beside you of course,” George told him sounding as though this was such a simple and obvious thing.

“I see, so when I raise my left hand,” Severus told them slowly raising it with his index finger up and thumb out to the side the other three finger down showing a L.

“You shall easily know that I am speaking to you two Losers and you should use your left hand for the work done,”

Fred and George blinked a few times before cracking up.

“Very good sir, I think we’ll get that,”

”I agree sir it would be great help for us,” George laughed with his brother the whole class joining in after that.
