Snape was walking through the halls when Slughorn waddled up to him, his chest heaving; it seemed he had hurried to catch up to him,

“Severus, or should I say Professor Snape now?” Slughorn asked with a small smile on his pudgy face, his thick mustache gave a little quiver.

“Severus, is fine Professor Slughorn, how are you doing? How do you like being back at school teaching?” Snape asked since he had yet to have a real conversation with him since he had shown up.

“Great, real great, I do have a small problem though.”

Snape raised an eyebrow at him, “Already?”

“Yes you remember those little Slug parties I would always have.”

Snape nodded his head, he had indeed remember going to them and even having Lily go to a few with him, she didn’t seem to enjoy them as much, that might have been since she was the only girls and the majority of the others were males from his house, who were less then kind to her.

“I am planning on having one this Saturday and I had invited Harry Potter to come along to it, but he had told me that he has detention with you, I was hoping you would postpone his punishment.” Slughorn asked as he wheezed along side Snape.

“I’m sorry I would have, but it was already postpone and at this time the work I need done will be spoiled and worthless, I really do need it done and I prefer to make sure it is done as punishment, since it would… help the offender to learn why they don’t transgress.”

Slughorn chuckled at this, “Aaah Severus, I remember well when you and a Miss Evans found your self in trouble and serving time, probably not as many times as you should have though.” Slughorn laughed even more. Snape smiled at him, he knew that Slughorn could have given them detention many times but since he favored them he would let them off.

“How about I promise to not give him detention for next Saturday, I am sure he will do something to earn another one, he is…. A constant trouble maker,” Said Snape.

“Yes he does seem to find trouble, he seems a lot like his mother with his fathers looks, but those eyes… they are his mothers, she had amazing eyes, wouldn’t you agree Severus.” Slughorn asked as he walked along smiling at a few students who were passing the other way and some that were making out in a corner. “Young love,’ He’d murmur when they passed kissing couples. Snape smiled sadly he remember well the times he had enjoyed making out with Lily.

“Yes Lily did have amazing eyes; she was… quite a witch too….” Snape said as he thought of her skills and the eyes he had always loved.

“Yes she was very talented; it was amazing to learn she was Muggle born, she was so talented and such a wit, always a pleasure in class. Just as you were, Severus, the two of you did some amazing work with your potions.”

“Lily did have a natural knack for it, she had although I confess I don’t know how, but she had some how cut the length of time for the Poly-juice potion and worked it so that it lasted longer then an hour.”

Slughorn stopped in his tracks looking at him surprised his eyes very wide.

“Had she now, I had not known that. I’ve worked with Potions for so long but I had never been able to do that with Poly-juice potion. Oh to learn how she did it.” Slughorn said wistfully.

Snape nodded it was one thing he wished he had learn from her, but he had never had the chance and then she was killed. Now it was completely out of his grasp, Snape would have given anything to be able to talk with her and learn of these secrets, or to just see her again without it being a ghostly image he had conjured up when he was feeling very lonely.
