Come the start of classes, for the students all back from their Christmas break, Snape was setting up for the classes. His first class of the day would be with the fourth term class, which included Luna Lovegood the oddball girl with the dirty blonde hair and large eyes. Snape was walking down from the Great Hall for his class when he heard some students taunting someone, he didn't have to guess who it was when the words Loony reached his ears. Snape felt anger bubble up inside him; he had never enjoyed hearing students tease someone else, just for being different. Yes Luna was as different as they came but he figured he too had been quite different in school, and the only one who ever stuck up for him was Lily who would tell people off for teasing him and promptly take his hand leading him away from the others so they could spend time alone. Snape preferred those times, when they could talk about anything or simply be together enjoying each other’s presence.

Snape noticed that Luna was wearing a very strong scent today, it was he knew a simple potion as he neared the students the boys were indeed giving her a hard time for what she was wearing perfume wise.

"It's called Ultimate Dream a perfume you wear to have the best dreams ever." Luna retorted to the two boys who were laughing hysterically over the scent she was wearing, the new earrings with large half moons that lay on her shoulders were not helping as they switched from dark gray to light then blue and back to dark gray.

"Inside, all of you," Snape said in a soft dangerous voice as he looked at the two from Hufflepuffs who were in mid-insult when Snape arrived at the Dungeon door. As they all filed inside Snape said in a soft under tone, “twenty points from Hufflepuff for cruelty to Luna, Smith and Caasman.” Snape watched as they walked to their seats all looking guilty and or worried. Snape looked at Luna who was looking as always quite unaware of her surrounding as she seemed to be lost in visions only she could see. Snape smiled at her as he reached the front of the room, where he was not sure but it looked as though she may have smiled back at him. It was he knew always hard to tell with her, she could just be smiling at some vision only she saw.

 “Today we shall be making a simple but...... interesting potion today it is called Ultimate Dream, which is usually drank, but a highly talented student has made it into a perfume, which by the dreamy expression has been a success for her.” Snape told them as he waved his wand so that the potion they had been going to undertake was replaced by the new one, called Ultimate Dream. Snape smirked as they all looked astounded. They quickly started on the new potions; some giving furtive looks at Luna as she happily went about her business making up a patch of Ultimate Dream potions.

 “This potion you will find is very strong but unwise to use it in large quantities; you must use this sparingly so that you do not become ill or even die from it.” Snape added this last part which was untrue but he remembered in his time at school when it was all the rage and several students were prone to drinking it so often that it was hard for them to tell reality after a while so the potion was banned after this.

Snape walked around the class winkling his nose at some of the attempts at making the potion, it was not a pretty sight.

 “Ugh have you read nothing on the board, Mitchell?" Snape sneered as he looked at the green thick goop that was making long slow popping noises. The young man with brown hair shrugged his shoulders as he gave a small shake of his head.

"No points for you then,” Snape waved his wand the green thick goop disappeared as Snape walked on to look at others attempts, most were reasonable good with a few exceptions to the disastrous type and truly great ones.

After the class had ended; the students filed out of the classroom to leave for their next class, when Luna walked up to his desk with her own potion in the flask for him to examine.
