After the incident with Filch’s cat and the deathday party the head master had called for Severus to come see him.

He had gone to Dumbledore’s office to see him feeding Fawkes

“You wish to see me Professor?” Snape asked politely.

“Ah yes Severus, I am wondering if you could mention to your second year students about Polyjuice Potion.”

“Polyjuice potion, but that is usually reserved for later in the schooling, not until their seventh year.” Snape said surprised by this request.

“Oh yes I know that, Severus. I just think this little added bit of information might be good for them, at least for a few who do listen to what is going on in class.

“You must not be talking about Potter and Weasley then those two seldom pay attention to anything I’m saying.

“I understand but they do pay attention to a Miss Granger who does pay attention to all her teachers.” Dumbledore smiled at him. “Including you,”

 Snape nodded he didn’t want to come out right and say that he was impressed with her work and attitude in school.

“Oooh I wouldn’t mention how a certain student here was able to cut that potion down to only half hour brewing time and able to make it last for a few hours. Poor Moody is still trying to figure out how she has done that.” Dumbledore’s eyes glittered with happiness.

Snape was looking at him wide eyed. “I must confess I would like to know that myself.”

“Wouldn’t we all, but that little lady had more secrets then she revealed.” Dumbledore chuckled even more happily.

Severus was smirking at him. “Yes she did, sir she really did.”

The two talked a little longer before Snape left for his office to decide what to talk about that would make it sound planned out to talk about Polyjuice potions.

In class Snape had sat them down to prepare a simple healing draft, while talking softly about the effects of different potions. “You will find that some potions will effect the mind, others the heart while some the body. The ones that effect the body the most is called Polyjuice potion, it is an extremely hard potion to make and requires a month brewing after which you need a bit of the person you plan on changing into, hair is usually the most preferred over say a toenail.” Snape glanced over at Hermione. He was not at all surprised to see she was paying apt attention to his words while Harry and Ron were talking quietly and giving Draco and his friends’ venomous looks which were of course returned in full.

Severus sighed and went on about the potions that would affect the heart and mind.

Once the class ended Severus sat down wondering why Dumbledore wanted him to talk to the students about a potion they would not be attempting until their seventh year. The ones smart enough and with enough talent to make it that far in there classes at least.

“What kind of trouble does he see brewing for your son now Lily?” Snape asked softly as he turned his attention to the potions they had made and turned in for his grading. He stopped talking while he was busy looking at the potions and grading them all.

A few days later the gossip was still going through the school was about Harry of course and whether or not he was the heir of Slytherin and if he had been the one to open up the Chamber of Secrets.

Snape found this quite humorous, if Harry had been related to Slytherin why was he then not placed in his house instead of being placed in Gryffindor.
