It was six days after Dumbledore had been killed. It was a time for dark secrets to be revealed. Narcissa was in pain, she knew what it was, but she had no clue what to do about it, she had not told anyone, not even Severus. Narcissa felt tears well up in her eyes as she felt another contraction.

“Cissy, are you in here?” Lucius asked concerned his wife had not come to breakfast, and had hidden in a spare room during the night.

“Yes, I am.” Narcissa gasped out as she felt another contraction work it’s way from her lower back to the top of her tummy, which she had kept hidden all this time with a concealment charm.

Lucius came inside to see her breathing hard, holding a large tummy.

“Narcissa,” Lucius said softly his grey eyes wide with shock.

“You…. You’re…. but…..”

“I’m sorry Lucius; I know I should never have, but…… I was…. Aaahhhhh,” Narcissa cried out with another contraction. Lucius stepped into the room, walking over to his wife.

“I confess this is not what I had expected on my return home,” Lucius took hold of her hand, looking sadly at her.

“I’m sorry,” Narcissa panted as the contraction had ended. “I was just so lonely,” Narcissa cried now as Lucius held her hand gently in his own. “I wanted you so much, but…. Our Dark Lord…. Would never say….” Narcissa panted hard as she felt the new contraction work its way through her tummy. “When he would release you,” Narcissa looked up into his soft grey eyes. “I haven’t since, it was just that time.” she lied about that, but figured she was causing him enough pain.

Lucius looked at her tear-streaked face he felt his own tears slipped down his own face.

“Who was it, who is the father?” Lucius finally asked his voice flat.

Narcissa looked sadly at him, another contraction taking her before she could answer.

“Severus Snape, but he does not know, I have not told him about the baby.”

Lucius chuckled at this, “I am not surprised. I remember how you fancy him when you were in school. I guess I understand why you did. It is at least better then that pest who is stuck here, that ugly little rat man.” Lucius spat out, his grip on her hand becoming painful.

“Lucius, please I’m in enough pain without you taking my hand off,” Narcissa begged as he suddenly realized her was squeezing her hand tightly. “Besides I was in need but not that desperate,”

“What are we to do then Narcissa?”

“What do you mean?” panted Narcissa.

Lucius chuckled at her, as he used a finger to move her long blonde hair from her sweaty face.

“This is not a place for a baby to grow up, it is… .Dangerous, here right now.”

“I know, I had thought of that. There is only one thing I… we can do….” Narcissa panted hard through another contraction. She had preferred to given birth before her husband had arrived home.

“I’m going to see my sister Andromeda, beg her to watch the child for me,”

Lucius nodded his head in agreement, “That I am sure will be best for the child,” Lucius looked around for a moment. “I had best help you deliver this baby, of yours and….. His….”

“Lucius please don’t hate him, he does not know,”

“You told me he doesn’t know about the baby,” Lucius said a bit harsher then he intended.
