Chapter 89. Glad to see him leave.

It was the third week of summer vacation and Snape was out walking through the neighborhood, it was at this time early morning, the sun was up but not high in the sky yet, he was going to leave and go home when he heard quite distinctively a bellow coming from the house of number four privet drive.

“WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU,”

“ABOUT SAYING THE ‘M’ WORD IN OUR HOUSE”

Snape could tell that Harry’s uncle Vernon was beyond angry and was letting the whole neighborhood know about Harry living there and being a wizard. Snape quickly put up a privacy bubble around the house. It was not safe to let unknown people hear some things.

“HOW DARE YOU THREATEN DUDLEY!”

Snape laughed at this, he couldn’t say he blamed Harry if he had threaten Dudley the kid was horrible and Snape had not been watching them for very long.

“I WARNED YOU!  I WILL NOT TOLERATE MENTION OF YOUR ABNORMALITY UNDER THIS ROOF!”

Snape wish he could hear what Harry was saying to his uncle, since all he heard was the one side of this screaming conversation.

“The M word like magic is so dirty. I wonder how that old pig would like to have a tail stuck on his butt.” Snape muttered, he may not like Harry but this was intolerable.

Snape removed the privacy bubble since it seemed the screaming was done now. Snape hid into the bushes as he saw Vernon leave in his car and then he watched as Harry left the gleaming kitchen to start working in the yard, it was hot dirty backbreaking work and his cousin soon showed up taunting him. Snape had to smile as he listens to Harry get back at his cousin for his teasing.

“Jiggery pokery! Hocus pocus squiggly wiggly.”

Snape chuckled softly as he watched Dudley run back to the kitchen yelling “MUM MUUUUM he’s doing you know what!”

“Way to go kid, make things even worse for your self.” Snape at this time left for home. He was tired and knew Figg was going to be watching now. The only thing he wondered about was why his friends had not written him, since he knew that Harry had two very good friends at Hogwarts. He made a mental note to talk to Dumbledore about this later.

Snape had gone home and slept soundly it had been a long night now.

Severus had shown up the next night to a surprise of the new addition. The house had fitted bars across the window that was where Harry had been sleeping. Snape knew at the time of his mother living here that had been the guest room and Lily and Petunia had the other two rooms while their parents had the largest room.

“Wow that Potter kid must have really made that old pig mad; he put up bars on the window, poor kid.” Snape felt a small splattering of resentment as he looked up at the house. Snape knew there was nothing he could do, but send an owl to Dumbledore informing him of this situation. Snape started to walk slowly down the street when the door to number four open up and out come Petunia, with her hand bag and a fussy look on her face. Petunia had looked up to see Snape standing at the end of the drive gave a feeble scared squeak and dashed back into the house. He laughed out loud, he couldn’t help it; the whole thing was too comical.

“Hope you don’t mind Li, but that was worth letting her see me.” Snape said as he hurried on home to send an owl.

Lily and James were both laughing hysterically at the sight of her sister; it was they agreed the best thing they saw in a long time.

That night Lily and James cheered and danced around the yard when Ron Weasley and his twin brothers Fred and George had shown up in a flying ford car and used a hook to remove the bars and helped him take his things and leave the house with the Dursley’s hanging out the window in stunned silence.
