Chapter 116
Snape first went to his home in Spinners where he went to the closet in his room; he looked inside the closet at the large box where he had kept his Death Eater’s Cape and mask. Snape held them or a few minutes in his hands, wishing he could place them back inside the box and lock it up. Snape didn’t want to go back to Voldermort, but knew he had no choice now. Snape slipped them both on and walked to the front door where he disapperated, to the home of Barty Crouch this being the last place he was at. Snape figured it would be where for a while he would be staying until he decided on a new location. Snape slipped through the darkness to see that the place was empty; there was no one around. He had soon disaperated to the last known place that Voldermort had stayed, the home of his grandparents. Snape was soon in the small town of Little Hangleton. Snape walked up to the old house it was looking even shabbier then it had many years ago. Snape walked to the door, he knocked gently on the door. A few minutes later the door opened a fellow Death Eater with a mask in place was standing there eyeing him warily.
“I’m here to see the Dark Lord.” Snape said silkily as the other backed up allowing Snape to walk into the room; it too was looking even more misused.
“He is in the drawing room,” The small squeaky voice said as he pointed down the hallway. Snape glared at him, as the voice seemed familiar. He walked down the hall toward the den. Snape knocked on the door, a high-pitched cold voice told him to enter.
Snape walked into the den he walked over to Voldermort, he went to his knees as he whispered softly. “My Lord please forgive; my delay in meeting with you. I have not left the post of spy at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on Dumbledore.” Snape waited to see if the man would crucio him or talk first then crucio him for his punishment.
“Severus, I was not sure if you had left me for Dumbledore. I have I admit to believing you had left me for good, for that old fool.” Voldermort said softly as he looked down on Snape’s bowed head.
“Never my Lord, I have been gathering information over the last sixteen years. I admit I was uncertain if you would return, but I had hoped in my heart that you would and I would be able to share with you the knowledge I had gain over the last sixteen years.”
Voldermort chuckled coldly, “please stand Severus,”
Snape stood up looking directly into Voldermort’s pitiless red eyes.
“I am very glad indeed that you have stayed there spying on the Muggle loving fool. So tell me how is he doing? What news have you gotten for me, and I have a whole host of other questions for you.” Voldermort said with a mirthless laugh.
Snape stood watching him, not letting any emotions show in his eyes or face as he started to speak about Dumbledore.
“The old fool, still believes in goodness and love in everyone. He has been slowing down considerable these last few years; I do believe he is losing his memory as well.”
It was a few hours of long questions and speculative looks from Voldermort as he watched Snape with a critical eye, trying to find a weakness or a lie in his words. Voldermort was very pleased it seemed his faithful spy was still his faithful spy and was doing a great job of gathering information for him against Dumbledore.
Snape left after answering all the questions for Voldermort he was very relieved that he was not tortured by him and that the man had believed him completely. He knew the lack of punishment was due to him having stay at his post and given him what he thought was valuable information.
Snape walked past the small man who was waiting in the living room with three other fellows Death Eater. They looked surprised to see another Death Eater walking out of the den. They were not wearing masks.
